Job Description

insightsoftware is looking for an experienced Consulting professional to join its Professional Services Group (PSG).  This practice area provides financial reporting professional services to public and private companies.  Services include performing accounting reconciliation for new clients and assisting with PSG’s delivery of consultative support for existing clients.  Our consultative support services include developing and delivering processes and solutions for handling data transformation of equity compensation awards in situations such as corporate acquisitions, spin-offs, special dividends, and changes in accounting requirements.  If you have a background in Finance/Accounting, love data and/or spreadsheets and are an expert with reconciling numbers in Excel this role is for you!

The accounting requirements cover the calculation of compensation expense, corporate income tax effects, diluted earnings per share, and required disclosure information. 

Responsibilities

The Consultant is responsible for:

  • Performing accounting reconciliation to help new clients understand the differences, if any, between the Certent’s software’s calculation of compensation expense as compared to the client’s previous method of calculation.
  • Project management, discovery of the client’s situation, coordinating internal resources, assisting with the development of solutions, and preparing/presenting the deliverables.
  • Delivering projects under tight and aggressive deadlines
  • Occasional travel may be required post COVID restrictions

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience working in a professional services organization

·       Experience performing reconciliations of large/complex spreadsheets

·       BA/BS degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance 

  • Solutions focused approach to creative problem solving
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Knowledge of ASC 718 / SFAS 123R.
  • Proficient in Excel and/or Access.
  • Experience with the basics of Equity administration topics
  • Experience with SQL a plus
