Job Description

The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys documentation and would like to move into (or get back to) Technical Writing. The role will be working closely with the Product Operations Manager with a view to taking on more tasks as their skills progress (depending on experience).

Your day to day may look like but limited in

  • Assisting with the research, creation, writing and maintenance of customer facing user guides for a finance SaaS product.
  • Writing and maintain content on internal knowledge base, including configuration settings, internal processes, and knowledge base articles.
  • Obtaining an understanding of products, services and internal processes in order to translate into simple, concise and easy to understand content. Independently gather information from existing product documentation, subject matter experts and JIRA development tickets.
  • Ensuring documentation content meets the needs of the target audience.
  • Ensuring organisational standards and met, and consistent product terminology is used across all forms of customer documentation and communication.
  • Initiating innovative approaches for improvement.
  • Developing and maintain good working relationships with key staff and subject matter experts to ensure optimal product knowledge.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Excellent  written and spoken English, and skilled at writing in plain language.
  • Technical Writing experience with a Software Company.
  • An understanding of single source authoring concepts.
  • Confident in communicating with various departments of the business and subject matter experts.
  • Not afraid to ask questions, learn and initiate.
  • Unlimited working rights in Australia.

Nice to have but not mandatory:

  • Experience with JIRA
  • Experience with Madcap Flare
