Job Description
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the maintenance of a pulp and paper operation consisting of a paper machine, mechanical ground wood pulp mill, gas fired boilers and effluent water treatment system along with supporting equipment and processes. Along with an Electrical Supervisor, the position leads and directs a department consisting of multi-skilled maintenance crew of 25 employees. In addition, this position is responsible to coordinate process improvement, equipment reliability (Pm/Pdm), vibration analysis and work planning process for the mill. This position functions as a key member of the mill leadership team. Candidates selected for consideration will be sent a detailed job description.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated strong paper mill mechanical background required along with a good understanding of associated pulping and paper making peripheral equipment. College degree in mechanical engineering or other discipline desired.
- Ability to organize and direct maintenance work in an efficient manner.
- Requires excellent participative leadership capabilities, with strong forward thinking and ability to motivate others toward common goals.
- Good computer skills with maintenance management software experience and the ability to quickly learn new processes and systems. Must be able to effectively coordinate and plan the daily activities of a large group.
- Demonstrated experience successfully leading a work team in a Union environment.
Additional Information
The Maintenance Manager is a salaried position. Pay range is $90k to $125k per year depending on experience level.
