Job Description

The Administrative Specialist supports the IEP Purchasing team by providing administrative functions, maintaining operational activities within the storeroom, resolving inventory challenges and finding solutions that will improve the overall operation of the department. This is a hands-on position located in the mill storeroom alongside the purchasing team (not an office position).

  • Performs administrative functions for purchasing and storeroom per established procedures.
  • Performs the daily activity of inventory control, purchase and replenish stock parts, pull and receive orders, request quotes and other purchasing activities.
  • Audits inventory information for accuracy.
  • Interacts with internal customers to provide expeditious customer service.
  • Researches and analyzes discrepancies and resolves them.
  • Monitors and processes all inbound receipts to ensure they are correct and carried out in a timely fashion.
  • Develops, implements and maintains inventory control procedures and processes jointly with the Purchasing Team.
  • Develops and implements strategies and procedures for effective control of materials.
  • Ensures the development and implementation of action plans to address root causes of failures and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain storeroom and warehouse order, cleanliness, keep-fill  and store stock items and labeling.
  • Pick-up parts in Spokane area as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of high school diploma, secondary education preferred.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience with administrative tasks. (materials/inventory control or related industrial experience preferred).
  • Competent math and computer skills (MS Office and SharePoint).
  • Experience with MRP/ERP programs such as JD Edwards preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to support working as a team with diverse styles.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
