Job Description

Scaling any business as rapidly as we are is both exciting and challenging. We’re lucky to have a product we know thousands of people across the country love, a strong financial position, and a team of fantastic people. You’ll be working directly with our VP of Operations — so this role is perfect for someone who wants to learn a ton about how startups scale from the best seat in the house. You are the in charge of our teams that maintain the Inhabitr delight for our customers and drive the power of the brand with our direct e-commerce customer on a daily basis. You will manage the teams that are on the front lines interacting with our customers on a daily basis. You will manage the associates in all our regions and the back office team supporting customer communications. Based at the Inhabitr Headquarters in Chicago, you will interact daily with the leadership team to ensure the B2C side of the business is running smoothly and meeting business goals. You will interact with associates, customers, suppliers, and delivery crews on a daily basis. At times you will be hiring, negotiating and working on contracts with for onboarding more staff and vendors. 

Qualifications 

● You are a connector - you’ve been told you have high EQ, and you tend to form genuine relationships with others very quickly. You are a pro at influencing, supporting other teams to do what they do better and better every day. 

● You enjoy speaking with customers to ensure their issues are resolved while maintaining business standards and profit margins 

● You are regimented in developing processes, following them yourself, and ensuring others in the organization adhere to the processes as well 

● You don’t mind being in a supporting role - you like the idea of having the bird’s eye view of Inhabitr, working closely with the Head of Ops and other leaders, and having a massive impact on the company, but are comfortable doing so in a role that is sometimes very visible but at others more behind-the-scenes. 

● You are comfortable managing external vendors and in Inhabitr associates across the nation and internationally 

● You have a passion for technology and how technology can be leveraged to improve operations 

● You pride yourself on being organized and knowing how to prioritize - you are a list keeper. You not only keep track of tasks big and small to be done, but you tend to constantly re-evaluate their importance relative to the company at large. 

● Collaborate with the off-shore operations support team to ensure system data is accurate and up-to-date 

● You get stuff done - you know what it feels like to deliver results on projects big and small, and you like driving things from idea through execution. 

● Company culture and employee engagement are important to you - you have an ear to the ground of the company and want to do the hard work of figuring out how to build a culture across an increasingly large organization. 

● You are a trusted partner to the Head of Ops and other senior members of the organization - everyone respects and welcomes your intuition and has trust in your ability to drive change.

Requirements 

● 5+ years of proven management experience and results with experience across multiple disciplines 

● Experience speaking with customers and managing their expectations of an e-commerce business 

● Ability to think on your feet and problem solve to ensure customers are serviced meeting standard business SLAs 

● Ability to excel in an ambiguous environment, orchestrating strategic and complex business activity 

● Proven track record in project and business management 

● Experience leading and executing projects in a complex organizational environment and work on several diverse projects at the same time 

● Ability and emotional maturity to work in a productive and cooperative way with a variety of people ranging from VPs to C-Suite team members 

● Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to influence 

● Ability to maintain good judgment in fast-paced, high-stress environments 

● Obsession with attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills 

● Ability to travel 30% of the time to customer
