Job Description

Ingram Content Group (ICG) is hiring a Manager, Inside Sales to contribute to our team in LaVergne, TN, just outside Nashville.

In this role, you’ll provide advice on company products and/or services through inside sales staff. You’ll coordinate and manage ILS inside sales activities ensuring timely contacts are made according to plan for all House and public libraries. The manager will act as a leader for sales support considerations concerning the ILS sales plan for public libraries and K-12 school markets.  Additionally, you will be responsible for supporting overall sales initiatives in ILS through training sessions, coordinating with the ILS team along with other departments such as Order Entry, Customer Care, Finance, Credit, Product, and Legal to resolve issues and implement opportunities. Further, you will act as a liaison for ILS Sales, Customer Service, and Customer Care Department. You will partner with the credit department to ensure timely communication with customers as it pertains to credit holds/customer payments and help advise on customer opportunities. The Manager will work collectively with the Director of Sales and Director of Library Operations to assist with budgeting and forecasting quarterly. Finally, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of Inside Sales through planning, organizing, motivating, and monitoring performance to achieve department goals as well as oversight of Educational Wholesaler and all assigned accounts revenue goals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or year-for-year experience.
  • 5 years of inside sales/outside experience.
  • 2 years of management experience or experience managing projects.
  • 2 years of Salesforce experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experienced in PowerPoint.
  • Experienced in Excel, Pivot Tables, and V-lookup.
  • Experienced in working cross-departmentally within a large company/corporation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Through inside sales team, represents and sells company products and services to new and existing accounts by evaluating customer needs, identifying appropriate products and services and explaining programs to increase or maintain favorable sales.  Customer contact is primarily through Teams meetings, inbound and outbound telephone calls and e-mails.
  • Develops and maintains business relationships with assigned account base by maintaining high level of knowledge of industry trends, company services and policies, and ILS products and services.
  • Assists with Salesforce training and changes needed to capture important customer information in the CRM.
  • Provides advice on company products and services through Inside Sales and public library sales staff.
  • Provides coaching, advice, support, development and evaluation of Inside Sales team, including hiring and training sales staff. 
  • Handles and ensures resolution of complex escalation calls from customers transferred by department staff.
  • Manages and approves sample requests from sales representatives, reviews the sales support mailbox, reviews bids and provides input as requested, act as a iPage trainer and resource person for internal and remote staff. 
  • Communicates changes in industry trends to seize opportunity or report service level concerns to internal departments for resolution as well as senior management.
