37.5 hours per week, Permanent, Full time
London Office Based or Milton Keynes Office Based, with some remote/homeworking options
Job Summary:
- Sales and marketing support to in-house sales departments and freelance sales representatives.
- Working as part of a small team, this is a varied role which requires excellent organisational skills and a strong sense of initiative.
- Providing sales and marketing support to the sales team for our sold publishers out of the IPS UK warehouse.
- Marketing publisher titles into the U.K. trade
Essential Job Duties:
Sales
- First point of contact for general sales queries from customers; sales teams and publishers
- Supporting the internal sales team and external rep teams to maximise sales for sold clients out of the IPS UK warehouse
- Process any orders quickly and effectively via the IPS UK warehouse
- Overseeing the relationships with London independent bookshops
- Source and building relationships with new and existing customers
- Managing and updating the publication schedule across all our sold publishers, including communicating any changes to the wider sales team
- Submitting monthly customer grids
- Attending publisher meetings and providing publisher client support
- Some general office administration
Marketing
- Marketing support to in-house sales departments; publishers and freelance reps
- Creating and developing marketing assets (AI’s; samplers)
- Create marketing campaigns, through print and social media for our titles
- Find and collate the specialist accounts to match our specialist genre publishers and create the marketing material to support these accounts
- Manage the museum and exhibition calendar
- Arrange account advance copy / sample mailings to customers and reps
- Submit titles for trade seasonal promotions and catalogues
- Manage the Co-op spend grid
- Create sales presentations
- Create and manage the distribution of our twice-yearly catalogue
- Manage U.K. content for our sold publishers to our social media channels, alongside building social media and influencer relationships
- Liaise with the wider International marketing team maximise all marketing opportunities
- Attending and organising key U.K. conferences
Publicity Support
- Provide publicity support to our publishers
- Keep sales and marketing material up-to-date with publicity information
- Liaise with booksellers/events to organise event stock
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

Qualifications
Experience:
- Passion and genuine interest in pursuing a career in the book/publishing industry
Education:
- Degree level desirable
- A Level / College level education essential
- GCSE English and Maths grade C or above essential
Essential Physical Demands:
- Ability to sit at workstation for extended periods of time effectively using a personal computer
- Ability to operate computer equipment, including keyboard and monitor, phone equipment and other necessary office equipment
- Occasional travel may be required.
