Job Description

Job Summary:  Improves the discoverability, availability and conversion of Lightning Source’s (LS) 12+ million titles within Ingram Content Group’s global catalog by developing business rules and processes for catalog and feed management. Identifies and recommends technology and business solutions to remove not permitted content and ensure LS titles are fully optimized across all global selling channels with complete, accurate and enhanced data. Conducts research, manages applications, creates ongoing reporting, and provides detailed analysis for management. Works with different business owners across the company to ensure the accuracy, persistence, and optimization of the LS Catalog within Ingram Book Company outbound feeds.  

Essential Duties:

  • Manages LS catalog and enforces only permitted content
  • Ensures complete metadata, including international pricing, for all titles in distribution
  • Manages Lightning Source portion of Ingram enterprise retail data collection (scraping) program, including curation of ISBNs, reporting and analytics to business stakeholders, and internal requirements gathering and integration with vendor for any new retailers
  • Optimizes metadata based on existing tools and new technology solutions identified
  • Performs active Downstream analysis of data feeds to identify gaps, errors, and opportunities that will increase discoverability and sales of client publisher content
  • Supports the growth of our Global Connect business with reporting, data analysis, and recommended actions
  • Creates and implement data improvement processes and programs for the publishing community
  • Translates business objectives into functional requirements
  • Evaluates business processes, anticipate requirements, develop and implement solutions with business users and development teams
  • Performs regular internal business reviews for key stakeholders and/or clients
  • Creates and manages daily, weekly and monthly reporting
  • Provides detailed ad hoc analysis
  • Collaborates with global counterparts to implement global data solutions, especially our international distribution teams
  • Partners and leads cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and develop processes for continuous process improvement
  • Explores and implements process enhancements to improve efficiency and continue monitoring existing processes

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or directly related year for year experience
  • 1 year business or data analysis experience
  • 2 years experience working with formal Reporting Tools/Platforms (examples: SQL, Qlik, Excel, Quickbase, SalesForce, etc.
  • 1 year intermediate to advanced experience using Excel for data manipulation, charts/graphs, pivot tables and V look-ups
