Job Description

VitalSource®, an Ingram Content Group (ICG) company is hiring for a Director of Sales to contribute to our International Sales team in Milton Keynes, UK.

The Director of Sales will provide strategic leadership to the regional sales team and is directly responsible for achieving sales and profitability targets for the international regions outside North America. He/she will pioneer, develop and execute sales strategies specific to regional market dynamics. Working closely with key stakeholders to scope, develop, and implement new business models and technology solutions to meet customer needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent year for year experience
  • 10 years’ experience in a sales and/or business development role
  • 5 years’ management experience
  • 3 years’ experience working in the international higher education / institutional sales environment

Preferred Skills:

  • Proven sales leadership experience driving a culture of high performance with a sales team
  • Experience of complex technology sales, preferably in the higher education sector and across international markets
  • Knowledge of the educational publishing market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and executes strategic plan to achieve sales targets & expand customer base.
  • Identifies valuable emerging markets and forms strategies to drive future growth.
  • Leads efforts to sell and deliver platform and software solutions across the international markets.
  • Negotiates terms and service agreements with clients and partners, in close consultation with Americas and International leadership.
  • Works closely with the International senior team including Leadership, to ensure VitalSource remains competitive & innovative.
  • Identifies and exploits viable channels into the market, including direct sales through the regional VitalSource Stores and wholesale business to channels and institutions.
