Job Description

VitalSource®, an Ingram Content Group (ICG) company is hiring for an Inventory Analyst to contribute to our Sales team in Raleigh, NC.  The Inventory Analyst assists the Manager, Inventory & Pricing with developing and maintaining a deep understanding of market demand for content.  Provides reporting required for title management and insights to promote optimal decision making.  Works with Publishers to ensure that the VitalSource catalog contains front list as well as on-demand requested titles from VitalSource distributor partners.  Ensures pricing is enabled and distribution rights assigned.  Maintains set-up for the Wholesale Matrix for wholesale Publishers. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2 years experience with direct customer relationships
  • 1 year analysis experience

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong experience working with Excel
  • Experience working with Salesforce preferred, but not required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains a method for approving title requests, monitoring match rates to titles in VST’s Booklist Manager system as well supporting as the Customer Success team help transition VST partners to Booklist Manager.  
  • Supports channel demand for titles based on priorities worked with the Manager, Inventory & Pricing including asks from VST eCommerce, institutions, re-sellers, etc.
  • Ensures pricing is enabled and distribution rights assigned.
  • Researches, documents, and acts upon targeted content to ensure it is included in the VitalSource systems and made available to the correct channels.
  • Contributes in cross-functional teams including Customer Success and Operations to obtain, forecast specific title requests and ensure sales channel satisfaction for customers.
  • Maintains relationships with publisher customer success and sales teams in order to facilitate conversations with Publishers regarding issues with title availability. Generates reports to demonstrate content trends.
