VitalSource®, an Ingram Content Group (ICG) company is hiring for a Sr. QA Automation Engineer to contribute to our Engineering team in Raleigh, NC.  As a Sr. Software QA Automation Engineer for our team in Raleigh, NC, you would be able to enhance and build digital e-Book solutions for college campuses around the world and play a part in leading this booming revolution in the educational technology industry!

This role will service global, high-scale business-critical applications, E-Commerce software products, and API’s while performing strategic design & architecture, software product maintenance, and complex development of new product features and services.  If you like to write code, improve testing frameworks, patterns and processes and if you like to help others do the same, this role is for you!

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or year-for-year experience
  • 6 years relevant QA engineering experience
  • 2+ years QA Automation Experience with any programming language; Ruby, Python, or Javascript

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of integration standards like LTI, SAML, OAuth, Shiboleth
  • Development experience with LMS technologies like Blackboard, Canvas D2l, Moodle, etc
  • Working within a continuous deployment environment using Jenkins or similar tool
  • Experience with code repository management system (Github/Gitlab)
  • Automation tools (Selenium,Postman, etc.)
  • Testing Web Applications and APIs, across multiple browsers and platforms with BrowserStack or similar tools
  • Familiarity with:
    • Ruby on Rails
    • Docker
    • Jenkins
    • Github
    • Kubernetes
    • Google Cloud
    • Database testing
  • Familiarity with content creation tools and formats (EPUB, PDF)
  • Working within an agile development environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Solid ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adapting testing efforts to meet project needs and deadlines.
  • Create and maintain test automation framework using Selenium, Jenkins, API, and Ruby
  • Manual testing will also be expected, but emphasis will be placed on devising and implementing test automation
  • Be a QA subject matter expert in specific areas across projects
  • Work in a team environment creating and implementing testing solutions.
  • Hands-on software product testing
  • Responsible for scripts and scenario maintenance to reflect new functionality
  • Anticipate user problems and suggest appropriate changes to correct defects and to enhance system functionality and performance
  • Develop, maintain, and execute regression level testing scenarios to verify existing systems requirements are maintained
  • Create and design test plans for accurately testing and debugging Ruby on Rails or other open source software products and RESTful API’s
  • Research and analyze problems while looking for trends impacting or improving service levels
  • Communicate effectively with team members, Product Managers, and Engineering staff
