Salary: £31,000 per annum

Employment has the power to change lives.

It can increase confidence, improve wellbeing, create social connections, and give people a greater sense of purpose and independence.

As an Employment Advisor, you'll support people with disabilities and long-term health conditions to access opportunities that can transform their lives. By connecting individuals with inclusive employers and helping organisations recognise the value of diverse talent, you'll contribute to stronger communities, more inclusive workplaces, and better outcomes for everyone.

What You'll Be Doing

As an Employment Advisor, you'll:

  • Deliver personalised, strengths-based employment support to individuals facing barriers to work.
  • Manage a caseload of participants, providing tailored guidance on job searching, CV writing, interview preparation, and career development.
  • Build trusted relationships and provide ongoing support throughout each participant's employment journey.
  • Take a proactive and creative approach to helping individuals overcome challenges and achieve their employment goals.
  • Develop strong partnerships with local authorities, healthcare professionals, community groups, and voluntary organisations to provide holistic support.
  • Engage with employers to identify suitable job opportunities that align with participants' skills, experience, and aspirations.
  • Promote disability confidence and support employers to create inclusive, accessible workplaces.
  • Maintain accurate records, track progress, and work towards agreed performance and employment outcomes.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in hearing from people with experience in employment support, recruitment, talent acquisition, stakeholder engagement, employability services, customer service, or other people-focused roles.

You'll bring:

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage and motivate a diverse range of individuals.
  • Experience managing stakeholder relationships and working collaboratively to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Empathy, resilience, and the ability to navigate sensitive conversations with professionalism and confidence.
  • A solution-focused approach with strong problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and perform in a target-driven environment.
  • An understanding of employment support, recruitment, welfare-to-work programmes, or related services would be advantageous, but not essential.

What Success Looks Like

In this role, you'll:

  • Support participants into meaningful, sustainable employment.
  • Build productive employer partnerships that create new opportunities within the local community.
  • Champion inclusive recruitment and workplace accessibility.
  • Deliver strong employment outcomes while maintaining a person-centred approach.
  • Positively impact the lives of individuals by helping them achieve greater independence and confidence through work.
