Senior Release Manager
Pune, Maharashtra, India | Full-time
 

What you will be doing:

  • You will be responsible for the Release Management lifecycle that involves scheduling the release, intra and inter-team coordination, and deployment of release as per the schedule and within budget. 

  • Communicating release plans, progress, and changes.

  • Own, implement, and enhance branching strategies.

  • Manage cross-functional dependencies.

  • Work with release engineers to understand impacts of branches and code merges

  • Produce deployment, implementation, and run book plans.

  • Conduct Release Readiness, Milestone, and Business Go/No-Go reviews

  • Ensure all pre and post-release steps are being implemented including JIRA updates, release notes, post-release verification, and communication.

  • Generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly business-friendly release KPIs and metrics to measure the improvements and success of overall SDLC.

  • Transitioning the team to a DevOps CI/CD multi-tenant application release model.

  • Identify gaps in the release process, recommend process and automation improvements

  • Research new software development and deployment methodologies and technologies and analyze their application to needs

Required Skills:

  • 12+ years of experience in managing releases of which,

    • 6+ years is in managing Agile releases

    • 8+ years of experience working with development teams either in Release Manager, test engineer, project manager or developer capacity.

    • 3+ years of experience working with geographically distributed teams.

  • BA/BS in a computer-science related discipline

  • Experience in transitioning teams to a DevOps CI/CD release model.

  • Well versed with on-prem and cloud application releases (AWS/Azure)

  • Power Atlassian (JIRA/Confluence/GIT) user.

  • Strong understanding of KPIs to measure progress and success.

  • Effective leadership and analytical skills
