Job Description

The Partnering & Investment in Life Sciences team is part of Informa Connect - a global business which delivers world-class live events and outstanding digital content to markets across more than 60 countries. Our  overriding mission is to help collaborations get started across the life science value chain. Our range of conferences has grown to become the largest and most productive conference platform in the industry. Each one of our landmark events held in key life science markets around the world is powered by our state-of-the-art partnering software, partneringONE®, that enables delegates to efficiently identify and engage with new opportunities via one-to-one meetings. Our events are delivered in person as well as digitally.

 

Job Description

We are seeking for a confident, focused, and business driven person who enjoys cultivating client relationship in a diverse customer base. This includes working with our existing client base as well as answering initial inquiries coming through our website and in-box.

You will also be responsible for the entire commercial engagement from proposal development, negotiation, to closing in exhibit and sponsorship sales, especially for our flagship events BIO-Europe and BIO-Europe Spring. There will be additional opportunities to cross-sell across the rest of the portfolio. The main focus will be on account management of an existing group of clients. That includes rebook, upsell, cross-sell. The aim is to build and maintain strong, long lasting customer relationships. Your strengths include building and executing new business development strategies to grow and expand new and existing customers.

You will also cooperate with other teams such as customer services, operations, and marketing to ensure our customers will get a high ROI out of our products and services and become faithful clients.

The Account Management Manager is part of the Partnering & Investment in Life Sciences team. We are seeking a confident, focused, and business driven person who enjoys cultivating client relationships within a diverse customer base, as well as ensuring customers receive an excellent service in on-site events and digital events and products. 
You’ll need to be organised, extremely proactive, adaptable, professional and personable and you’ll need to relish a demanding fast-moving environment and opportunities to work outside your comfort zone and learn new skills. Most of all you’ll need to be an exceptional team player – always willing to go the extra mile to ensure a task gets done.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Contracting and Execution (80%)

 

•              Manage incoming leads, answer customer's questions via e-mail and phone

•              Actively maintain sales pipeline opportunity stages

•              Keep up-to-date records of activities, opportunities, and accounts in our CRM systems

•              Research and understand customer needs and translate these into an individual offer of our sponsor and exhibitor products and services to meet customers’ objectives

•              Works with other Account Managers to help drive team goal achievement

•              Escalate as needed to ensure service delivery flows according to schedule; Identify, own, and handle any issues that arise

•              Collaborates with other team members to identify areas of improvement and to identify and grow opportunities

•              Monitor and execute the rebooking process for future events

•              Assist in marketing activities, such as content of SPEX home page and social selling initiatives

•              Participate in events to promote the portfolio

 

Event Support and Other (20%)
 

•              Steer the fulfilment of sponsor and exhibitor services at live and virtual events to ensure all elements of the client’s package is fulfilled according to their contracts.

•              Write and proofreads templates relating to sponsor and exhibitor sales and delivery, in collaboration with team members. 

•              Coordinate with marketing on the delivery of our data and analytics tool for customers.

•              Attend trainings as required

•              Attend conferences (Informa and competitor events)

•              Handle other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Experience in sales or customer management (minimum of 18 months)
  • Comfortable with face-to-face selling 
  • Comfortable in an international environment
  • A high level of spoken and written English is essential
  • Strong self-organisation skills and able to multitask
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly creative and detail driven
  • Ability to handle a diverse client base as well as a customer-centric outlook
  • Desire to think creatively, innovate and shape a product around customer needs
  • Proactive, adaptable and happy working in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of social media platforms
  • Enthusiasm and a collaborative mind set
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
