Job Description
This role is based in our Menara Skymind office.
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Governance Analyst to join Omdia's Data Architecture & Engineering team, supporting the implementation and maintenance of data governance standards across our market research and industry analysis data. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to Omdia's data centralization initiative while developing expertise in enterprise data governance.
Key Responsibilities
Data Governance Implementation
- Support the implementation of data governance frameworks and best practices across Omdia's market data sources
- Assist in developing and maintaining data taxonomy standards, ensuring consistency across research content workflows
- Contribute to data quality monitoring processes, identifying issues and supporting remediation efforts
- Help establish and document data lineage tracking for critical market research datasets
Data Quality & Standards
- Perform regular data quality assessments across market and industry data sources
- Document data governance procedures, standards, and best practices for team and stakeholder reference
- Support metadata management initiatives, ensuring accurate and comprehensive data documentation
- Assist in the development of data stewardship protocols and compliance monitoring
Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze data governance metrics and prepare regular reports on data quality, compliance, and governance maturity
- Support stakeholder requests for data lineage, quality assessments, and governance documentation
- Contribute to the evaluation of new data sources and their integration into existing governance frameworks
- Assist in vendor data assessment and compliance verification processes
Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with Data Governance Manager and Data Management Analyst to deliver team objectives
- Collaborate with research teams to understand data requirements and governance needs
- Support training initiatives to promote data governance awareness across the organization
- Participate in cross-functional projects related to data platform development and content workflow optimization
Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Management, Business Analytics, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in data analysis, data quality, or related analytical roles
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in SQL, Excel, and data analysis tools
- Understanding of data governance principles, data quality frameworks, and metadata management concepts
- Experience working with market research data, business intelligence, or similar analytical environments
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with complex datasets
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams
Desirable Requirements
- Experience with data cataloging tools, data lineage platforms, or governance software
- Knowledge of cloud data platforms and modern data architecture concepts
- Familiarity with research content workflows or market intelligence data sources
- Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
- Understanding of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements
- Previous experience in technology, media, or research industry environments
