Business Development Director
- Full-time
Company Description
Tahaluf is the largest B2B live and on-demand events organiser in Saudi Arabia by space, attendance, colleagues, and revenue. It is a joint venture between Informa PLC, the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones (SAFCSP), and the Events Investment Fund (EIF).
Tahaluf is bold, visionary, and determined to make an impact. Our team fosters a culture of collaboration, creativity, and a little fun. Here, teamwork rules, and work feels as exciting as the events we create. Scaling at this pace also requires exceptional local partners, and Tahaluf is proud to work with a range of government and non-government organisations at the forefront of Saudi Arabia’s B2B and B2C large-scale events scene.
Be part of something BIG with Tahaluf’s series of record-breaking events: LEAP and Cityscape - the largest events in the world in their respective fields of tech and real estate; Black Hat MEA - a Guinness World Record holder for the largest CTF competition during the event; and CPHI Middle East - the largest pharma debut event in history, to name just a few. Tahaluf is making a huge impact on the global events sector.
Job Description
The Business Development Director will be a strategic growth architect of Tahaluf, identifying and owning high-value pitch opportunities, shaping new market entry strategies, identifying M&A and partnership potential, and translating market intelligence into commercially viable event concepts aligned with Tahaluf’s long-term strategy.
What you will do:
You will be responsible for originating, structuring and securing new event platforms that expand the company’s portfolio and revenue base.
This role is accountable for pitching new event concepts to ministries and government entities, responding to relevant RFPs (including those issued via Etimad), identifying and structuring inorganic growth opportunities that can be scaled under Tahaluf’s operating model.
As our Business Development Director, you will lead the evolution of Business Development into a centralised, high-performing support function, acting as a trusted and dependable growth partner to Senior Leadership who have historically driven expansion autonomously.
The mission is to scale this function into a proactive, reactive and consistently successful engine for new projects and opportunities. This is a proactive, insight-led growth leadership position not a traditional, transactional sales role. It will be responsible for converting market opportunity into executable, revenue-generating event platforms that reinforce Tahaluf’s market leadership in the Kingdom.

- Develop and pitch new event concepts directly to ministries and government stakeholders.
- Monitor, qualify and respond to relevant RFPs, including those issued via Etimad.
- Own high-stakes bids end-to-end; qualification, positioning, commercial framing and executive presentation.
- Define and execute clear win strategies.
Central Growth Function Leadership
- Build Business Development into a structured, central support function serving Portfolio Leads and SMT.
- Act as a dependable growth partner, enabling senior business leads to secure new platforms more consistently.
- Improve success rate, speed and quality of opportunity development across the organisation. Executive Pitch Leadership
- Own and lead high-stakes bids end-to-end.
- Act as executive presenter for major government and enterprise opportunities.
- Define win strategy, positioning and commercial framing.
- Ensure brand consistency and narrative clarity in all pitch materials. Market & Portfolio Intelligence
- Interpret market and competitor analysis, translating into business development pathways.
- Ensure all growth initiatives are directly aligned to Tahaluf’s strategic priorities, portfolio roadmap and defined growth ambitions. Alignment & Partnerships
- Align with CEO, CFO and SMT on growth direction.
- Maintain senior stakeholder relationships across government and enterprise partners. • Ensure brand consistency, clarity and positioning integrity across all outputs
Qualifications
What you will bring:
- 12+ years in strategic business development, consulting or bid leadership roles.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder opportunities at C-suite and/or government level.
- Leadership (or exposure) to M&A evaluation, strategic partnerships or corporate expansion.
- Direct, hands-on experience in B2B events or exhibition platforms with commercial exposure and growth responsibility.
- Proven experience operating in Saudi Arabia, with an understanding of the local regulatory environment, government ecosystem and commercial landscape.
- Demonstrated ability to craft and present winning, narrative-led pitch decks with strong visual standards.
