Job Description
This role is based in Feroze Manor office.
As a Senior Analyst, you will be the architectural backbone of Omdia’s PC and Mobility data ecosystem. You will transform complex market signals—spanning desktops, notebooks, and tablets—into sophisticated mathematical models and automated forecasting tools. You are the "bridge" between raw data and the strategic insights delivered to global tech giants, ensuring our proprietary algorithms are as innovative as the markets we track.
Data modelling & Lifecycle Management
- Own the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of Omdia’s proprietary PC data models, covering desktops, notebooks, and tablets.
- Develop and implement logical, efficient algorithms for market estimation, forecasting, and automated deliverable generation.
- Drive innovation in modelling approaches to improve forecast accuracy while materially reducing manual effort and dependency.
Market Intelligence & Client Support
- Develop understanding of the PC market to validate data outputs and ensure analytical work aligns with industry trends.
- Derive meaningful insights from internal data and communicate them effectively to your team
- Support team with data inquiries and methodology deep dives by leveraging strong model expertise.
Process Updation, Automation & Optimization
- Engineer process flows that strategically balances automation with human intervention to optimize speed and accuracy.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives by introducing modern tools and frameworks to replace legacy, manual processes, ensuring scalability and data integrity.
- Proactively monitor, maintain, and update research systems to ensure process reliability, integrity, and uptime.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Mentor team members through structured knowledge transfer and guidance on model and process improvements.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation covering models, methodologies, and research workflows.
Qualifications
The Ideal Candidate
You're a numerically-driven data analyst with a genuine interest in consumer device markets. You love studying trends, spotting patterns, and turning raw data into compelling stories. You excel at solving complex mathematical problems and understand how to build forecasting algorithms that blend automation with human judgment. Modern tools like Python and R excite you, and you thrive as a self-starter in collaborative, tight-knit teams.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, economics, statistics, mathematics, engineering, commerce, or data science
- Experience: 4+ years in data science, process automation, data modelling, and analysis
- Technical Skills:
- Highly proficient in Python (pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Beautiful Soup, pysftp, pyodbc)
- Expert-level Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and PowerQuery
- Experience with data cleaning, visualization, and EDA
- Comfortable working with various file formats (Parquet, JSON, CSV)
- Language: Strong English verbal and written communication skills
Nice to Have
- Basic knowledge of GitHub, AWS S3, Lambda, and Athena
- Ability to navigate and modify hosted code as needed
