Job Description

The Senior Advertising Sales Manager is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving advertising revenue growth across the Taylor & Francis journal portfolio. This position combines entrepreneurial sales excellence with team leadership, requiring an experienced professional who can develop new business opportunities, manage key client relationships, and lead high-performing sales teams to exceed revenue targets.

  • Own Revenue Growth: Drive advertising and sponsorship revenue streams beyond ambitious targets while building sustainable business
  • Shape Market Strategy: Develop and execute strategic sales plans that position Taylor & Francis as the industry leader
  • Build Strategic Partnerships: Cultivate relationships with key accounts and unlock expansion opportunities worth millions
  • Create Custom Solutions: Design innovative advertising packages and lead high-stakes RFP responses for major clients
  • Lead Elite Teams: Manage, mentor, and develop top-performing sales professionals while building a winning culture
  • Drive Talent Excellence: Recruit exceptional talent and create development pathways that accelerate careers
  • Master Advanced Analytics: Leverage Salesforce, Google Analytics, and cutting-edge CRM tools to optimize performance
  • Represent Excellence: Network at premier industry events and conduct strategic sales visits that open new markets
  • Deliver Strategic Intelligence: Produce comprehensive reports and market analysis that inform executive decisions

Qualifications

What we're looking for:

  • Proven Sales Leadership: 8+ years driving exceptional results in advertising markets with consistent target achievement
  • Revenue Growth Expertise: Track record of significantly expanding business and exceeding ambitious goals
  • Marketing Services Mastery: Deep experience selling sophisticated solutions (webinars, symposiums, audience extensions)
  • Team Development Success: Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and scale high-performing sales organizations
  • Technology Excellence: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, and Google Analytics optimization
  • Executive Presence: Outstanding communication, presentation, and negotiation skills at all organizational levels
  • Strategic Vision: Entrepreneurial mindset with analytical rigor and ability to execute complex initiatives
  • Operational Excellence: Exceptional organizational skills managing multiple high-value, complex projects simultaneously

What we offer in return:

  • Annual salary of circa $90,000 - $110,000 USD + bonus

What you should know:

You must have the right to work and live in the US. 

Location: The successful candidate will be able to utilise our balanced working model. We ask that candidates live within a commutable distance of our Philadelphia office to ensure that as a balanced worker they can make it to our office location to collaborate as required. There is an expectation for a minimum of 3 days per week in-person time.

We believe that great things happen when people connect face-to-face. That's why we work in-person with each other, or with customers and partners, three days a week or more. When you’re not spending time together in one of our offices or other workplaces – like at conference – you get the flexibility and support to work from home or remotely.


Interview process: 

Once you have submitted your application, we may get in touch with you for an initial screening conversation or ask you to complete a short video interview to enable us to better understand your skills, experience, and motivation. Following this, you will be invited to attend a competency-based interview, either virtually or in person. Typically, we’d then finish the interview process with a final, 2nd stage interview before extending an offer to the successful applicant.
