Job Description
The role
We are seeking a Consulting Director to join Integrated Tech consulting team in Japan. This person will lead a team of consultants and ensure delivering high-quality outputs for custom consulting projects and interact with internal/external customers. The role reports to Head of Integrated Tech consulting and closely interacts with other Japan and global team members within Integrated Tech consulting team as well as broader strategic consulting group.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Development of a world-class, high-performing team of consulting experts with strong knowledge of products and consulting methodologies.
- Development, engagement, and resourcing of team, ensuring team have clear objectives and project plans and achieve team goals through strong collaboration.
- With strong background in semiconductor or related technology experience, lead client engagement leveraging team of consultants and domain experts.
Project Delivery
- Manage custom research deliverables, delivering projects to client satisfaction through strong market knowledge in semiconductor or related technology sector
- Achieve individual and team consulting billable utilisation targets
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative, primary and secondary research, including data collection, analysis, and synthesis.
- Managing projects by closely working together with other analyst and consultant stakeholders to ensure projects with clear objectives and execution of project plans
- Prepare concise, structured research deliverables such as briefs, reports, and presentations.
- Track project progress, communicate updates, and ensure deliverables align with client expectations.
Bid Management
- Manage team of consultants in all aspects of bid management process and where applicable, work closely with sales teams to develop new business.
- For select critical opportunities, responsible for all of bid stages of custom projects including drafting of project proposal documents; where necessary, responsible in managing third party subcontractor(s)
Client Engagement and Other Support Areas
- Building a compelling consulting proposition that builds on Informa TechTarget’s reputation as a “industry thought leader”.
- Build relationships with Content Leads/Research Directors to understand resourcing issues / opportunities, and what is working well / what we need to do differently to support continuous improvement (internal best practice, evangelism, ideas generation)
- With the account management team, expand Omdia’s presence in key accounts by networking with research users and executives. Maintain a good working relationship with the Intel & Advice account management team to proactively develop Omdia’s commercial position.
- Ensure exceptional client service through proactive communication and professional handling of requests.
- Support presentations and meetings by gathering key insights, creating visuals, and preparing briefing materials.
- Work with internal stakeholders to help implementing growth strategy
Qualifications
Skills and Qualifications:
- Has semiconductor or relevant industry and cross industry reputation and proven prior experience of leveraging across technical and business disciplines.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or an applicable field.
- 10 - 15 years of experience in semiconductor or automotive component or related technology industry.
- Strong problem solving skills with the ability to source, analyze, and synthesize information from multiple sources.
- Possess a deep understanding of relevant regional/sector industry dynamics and trends.
- Demonstrable experience in leading significant & varied projects and ongoing client engagement / development
- Experience of working with senior internal management in budget and objective setting for custom research practice
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project) and other productivity tools such as Tableau and BI.
- Ability to work with and develop relationships with multiple stakeholders
- Excellent and proven people development and management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in running multiple consulting projects at any given time
- Experience in running a large-scale (>£100,000) projects delivery
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proactive, adaptable, and a quick learner with strong attention to detail.
