These are typically not-tobe-missed annual events where buyers and sellers build relationships, see and show products and do business. Job Description
The Role
As Head of Business Development, you'll drive our growth and uncover new revenue streams. You'll craft and execute strategies that keep us competitive, in line with our goals, and at the forefront of our market.
You'll use data, market insights, and teamwork to spot valuable opportunities, boost lead generation, and create innovative solutions for our customers. Working closely with our Commercial Marketing, Sales, and Strategy leaders, you'll make sure our products meet market demands and customer needs.
You'll also build and guide a high-performing team, fostering innovation and strategic thinking. You'll set ambitious goals, make the most of our resources, and track key metrics to deliver real business results.
Key Priorities
Strategic Revenue Growth
- Create and implement a business development strategy to boost revenue and expand our market reach
- Find and assess promising markets, customer groups, and new opportunities
- Work with senior leaders to align our strategies with overall company goals
Leadership and Team Development
- Build and mentor a top-notch business development team that values excellence and innovation
- Guide team performance, provide direction, and ensure everyone's working towards our key objectives
- Develop future leaders within the team and create solid succession plans
Market Insights and Opportunity Identification
- Analyze markets in-depth to spot trends, challenges, and growth opportunities
- Use data-driven insights to develop new solutions and expand our offerings
- Represent us as a thought leader at key industry events and forums
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
- Team up with Marketing, Brand, and Sales to ensure we're all pulling in the same direction
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior clients, industry players, and partners
- Champion customer needs and work across teams to deliver tailored solutions that keep our clients happy and loyal

- Deep understanding of market dynamics, industry trends, and emerging opportunities in events or pharma sectors
- Proficiency in using advanced analytics and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) to inform strategy and track performance
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders
- Adept at building and maintaining strategic partnerships with clients and industry stakeholders
- Experience in setting and managing budgets, financial planning, and performance reporting
