Job Description

The Business Development Specialist will join a high-performing sales team, focusing on prospecting and selling for Black Hat and other Cybersecurity events and media. This role requires a motivated and results-driven sales professional with a passion for technology and cybersecurity.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Identify and prospect new business via phone and email.
  • Sell exhibit space, sponsorships, digital media, and lead generation programs.
  • Meet daily and weekly sales call targets and report progress.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to achieve team goals.
  • Manage leads, sales orders, and customer data in Salesforce.
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and provide sales forecasts.
  • Analyze the cybersecurity market to identify trends and opportunities.

Qualifications

What You Need to Succeed:

  • College degree in marketing or sales, with 1+ years of sales or sales support experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Salesforce, and related software.
  • Strong phone sales and prospecting abilities.
  • Excellent at building relationships and setting meetings.
  • Consultative sales approach with a results-driven mindset.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% for regional events.
  • 1-2 years of sales experience; marketing services sales a plus.

Additional Success Attributes:

  • Ability to sell business solutions in the cybersecurity market.
  • B2B media or trade show sales experience is a plus.
  • Strong listening skills to understand and respond to customer needs.
  • Proactive in identifying opportunities and addressing industry challenges.

Compensation:

  • Salary range: $65,000–$75,000, plus commission based on sales performance.
