COTERIE New York, the premier bi-annual event for women's contemporary and advanced contemporary apparel, footwear, accessories and beauty will deliver a three-day experience highlighting sustainability, technology and community at the Javits Center, February 20-22 to showcase Fall/Winter 2024 styles from over 1100+ domestic and international brands gathering designers from Turkey, Greece, South Korea, Italy and more together under one roof. Job Description

Purpose and Scope: The Retail Relations Specialist is responsible for engaging, developing, cultivating, and maintaining strong relationships with key contemporary women's fashion retailers internationally. The primary aim is to secure their attendance at our contemporary womenswear events, including COTERIE. This role emphasizes maintaining and enhancing existing buyer/retailer relationships and actively pursuing new retailer targets through industry knowledge, networking, and travel.

Key Responsibilities:

Retailer Engagement and Development:

  • Strengthen and maintain relationships with key retention retailers in the assigned segment through phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Proactively build relationships with new key retailers to invite and register them for live events and digital platforms.
  • Identify key contemporary retailers and decision-makers within each company in assigned segments.

Data Management and Analysis:

  • Track, update, and analyze retailer data in Salesforce.com.
  • Provide ongoing retailer information for the sales team, including key retailer lists and content about new and returning retailers.
  • Prepare and execute reports and analysis as requested.

Concierge and Consultative Services:

  • Provide high-touch concierge services to VIP retailers, including brand matchmaking and curation, both onsite at events and remotely.
  • Understand and continue to learn about the contemporary fashion landscape, including brand mix, categories, and trends.
  • Support the contemporary sales team by consulting with contemporary brands to enhance their understanding of our offerings.

Event and Marketing Support:

  • Respond promptly to retailer inquiries through in-person meetings, phone, and email.
  • Assist retailers with registration and encourage attendance through registration call and email campaigns.
  • Contribute to the "voice" of retail relations and collaborate on the creation of copy and other retail collateral.
  • Provide retailers with essential information such as brand listings, hotel rates sheets, and other show information.
  • Maintain the integrity of the database by continuously updating retailer information.

Onsite Responsibilities and Team Collaboration:

  • Help manage VIP buyer programs in partnership with the Retail Ops Specialist and Experience team.
  • Present professionally as a host to retailers onsite at all contemporary events.
  • Coordinate and assist with onsite show set-up and retail programs/events as needed.

Work Environment:

  • Routine and year-round phone and email outreach to retailers.
  • Travel to local meetings in NYC and the tri-state area weekly.
  • Travel to other key destinations within the US and internationally on a quarterly basis.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Fashion Buying/Merchandising, or equivalent experience.

Experience Requirements:

  • 3-4 years in retail sales, or within a fashion brand or showroom.
  • Deep understanding and interest in the contemporary women’s fashion industry and international retail landscape.
  • Existing relationships with key retailers are essential.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Preferred sales experience.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Digitally savvy with comfort in learning new systems.

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Salary and Job Posting Details:

  • The salary range for this position is between $70,000 to $90,000 USD.
  • No additional bonus or commission structure.
  • The job posting is set to expire on May 28, 2024.
