Job Description

Informa Markets is on a transformation journey and opportunities for Informa Markets to achieve its objectives at a large scale and within a complex landscape of businesses and fragmented technology estate requires a highly effective, delivery focused enterprise architecture practice.  This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing innovative data management solutions and automation systems that support our organization's goals. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, provide technical leadership, and ensure the scalability, performance, and security of our systems.

What you’ll be doing:

  • The is expected to assume the following key responsibilities plus any other reasonable duties as required: Ensure solutions developed across organization are aligned to enterprise architecture standards and principles and patterns, leverage common solutions and services.

  • Working closely with business and technology stakeholders to shape the vision.
  • Applying an agile mindset - balancing business strategy with the timelines available and determining how technologies can best fulfil our business needs.
  • Provide integration reference architecture and help with target architectures and roadmaps knowledge to assist with business case development.
  • Lay the foundation for our future – help improve and establish application governance and standards (Cloud, SaaS and On Prem) to enable IM to deliver its virtual, hybrid and physical events, pursue new revenue models and create product offerings.
  • Bridge the gap between conceptual architecture and practical delivery, crafting High-Level Designs (HLD) and Low-Level Designs (LLD) to guide project execution and contribute to the architectural governance process.
  • Develop and implement scalable and adaptable architectural frameworks that support the seamless execution of business processes and the integration of diverse systems.
  • Advise technical teams on design, development, performance, scalability, reliability, monitoring, and other operational concerns of integration solutions.
  • Optimize the platform deployment and operations working with infrastructure, support, security, and other teams.
  • Mentor and guide engineering teams, sharing insights and best practices for system integration, process automation, and architectural design.
  • Proactively research, evaluate, and integrate emerging technologies and tools to drive innovation and enhance system capabilities.
  • Lead the creation of Proof of Concepts (POCs) and Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) to demonstrate the feasibility and value of new solutions, leveraging cloud-based services for enhanced efficiency and scalability.
  • Assess and recommend cloud services and capabilities, focusing on those that enhance event-driven architectures, messaging, and API management, to support the strategic goals of Enterprise Integration Architecture.
  • Produce high-quality architectural documentation and artefacts that clearly articulate complex technical concepts and strategies to both technical peers and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Stay informed of the latest industry developments and technological advancements to ensure the architecture remains forward-thinking and aligned with best practices.

Qualifications

Hands-on experience in designing and implementing innovative, modern cloud-based and hybrid solutions tailored to meet evolving business needs.

  • Proven experience as a Technical/Solution Architect, Technical/Engineering Lead, or similar role
  • Experience in one or more programming languages to assist with proof of concept development.
  • Ability to work and influence distributed delivery teams in a collaborative and inclusive way.
  • Proficiency in automation and orchestration tools (e.g., GitLab CI/CD) and an understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
  • Have hand on experience in implementing enterprise application using platform services like AWS/azure websites, SQL, and other SaaS/PaaS Services
  • Knowledge of security best practices, access control, functional and non-functional requirements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team player and able to work effectively at all levels of an organisation with the ability to influence. 
  • Working knowledge of Functional monitoring tools, Custom metrics, Open telemetry or similar.
  • Understanding good coding standards, industry best practices
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology is preferred.
