Job Description



An exciting new opportunity has opened up to join INFORMA MARKETS Food department working on a global portfolio of events within the Food Ingredients industry. The candidate will work on the flagship events Food Ingredients Europe and Vitafoods Europe, annual trade shows. They will also be working on the following high growth market events, Fi India, Fi China, Hi China, Fi Vietnam, Fi Africa, Fi Asia, FI South America, Hi Japan. The candidate will also be given responsibility for one of the portfolio show to manage as the lead ‘Account Executive - Champion’,  you will sit within an INFORMA MARKETS office and manage a defined set of accounts to maximize revenue from these accounts and generate new business in to emerging markets from the accounts, to hit personal quarterly targets and team targets.


This role is perfect for an ambitious and experienced sales professional with a proven commercial record in exhibition/sponsorship sales. The role comes with a host of responsibilities and excellent career opportunities to develop. The candidate needs to build up valuable relationships with your client base and help them through the pre-show process. You'll be required to co-ordinate with the sales team, sales ops & brand departments. Updating our CRM system, work with the marketing team, sending out proposals, feeding back information to the Head of Account Management via weekly sales comments. You will have autonomy over creating new revenue streams and building relationships with key industry bodies as a point of contact. The key focus will be to ensure that the brand is consistently developed and marketing and sales plans fulfilled to ensure that all financial targets, brand awareness, client satisfaction and best practice objectives are fully met. INFORMA MARKETS is committed to developing our staff through specialist training, support and advice throughout the year.




Based in our dynamic and diverse office in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, the role manages the (hybrid) events, sponsorship and online webinar sales for the Informa Markets Food Ingredients and Vitafoods portfolios, 2 of the largest & best performing portfolio’s within the business.

The Account executive reports into the Head of Account Management, driving weekly / monthly sales, hit targets and reporting, manage existing and new customers focusing on maximizing their return on investment and our revenue potential.


• Proactively target and sell to key clients via the telephone / email to increase revenue and sqm.

• Be able to overcome objections and build value in the product

• International travel to meet customers and attend trade shows

• Ability to lead research and generate own client base (internet search, etc.)

•Minimum 3 hours outbound telesales per day

•Maintenance and updating of CRM system (Salesforce) i.e. sales database current exhibitors and potential exhibitors

•Responsible for day to day communication with clients

•Maintain accurate and timely detailed sales reporting

•Assist with sales actions, follow up on leads

•Work from a sales plan using direct telesales, direct mail, Internet, social media and printed material

•Play an active part in identifying sales opportunities (become familiar with existing and new competitive events, also in order to find ‘new’ lead companies). 

We do consider applicants from London (Valid Right to work in UK is needed for London applicants)

Telesales 70% of time

Competitor Trade Show visits 10% of time
