Job Description

Taylor & Francis are looking to bring on a Transformation Lead for a 9 month fixed term contract to support a change management process within the current Finance Operations team.  A technically minded individual with strong accounting knowledge who is interested in combining the analytical intelligence from data and developing technical solutions to systematically automate month end activities. The two key applications are of TM1 (Reporting and Calculation Engine) and Alteryx (Automation).  With a background in project work, they will be able to demonstrate the ability to meeting tight deadlines and have transformation experience.

This is hybrid role with approximately 2 days per week spent in our office in Milton Park, Oxfordshire, with the rest of your time spent working remotely from home. 

This role is for a fixed term contract of 9 months.

What you’ll be doing:

The Finance Transformation lead is responsible for evaluating and streamlining existing T&F month end processes through maximising the TM1 and Alteryx applications. They need to engage with both existing team members and internal stakeholders to evaluate the existing processes and implement process improvement to significantly reduce the manual effort in provisioning reporting requirements. This includes utilsing existing team members and technologies to create a step change in the workig model of Finance Operations in support of business needs and strategy.

What we’re looking for:

Tasks are likely to include:

  • Evaluation and negotiation with stakeholders to reduce the existing reporting estate into a streamlined delivery platform.
  • Understanding project initiatives and how they feed into forecasting, budgeting and planning activities.
  • Challenges current processes and ways of working, striving for an optimal level of output which both delivers on requirements in a timely fashion
  • Engaging with key stakeholders and implementing process orientated improvements with tangible efficiency and timeliness savings.
  • Leading on technical modelling in Alteryx / TM1 to realise identified benefits.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • BS Degree or equivalent professional qualifications
  • significant experience in a systematically led finance transformation role
  • Has a good knowledge of a wide area of information systems concepts within a Finance environment, both within and beyond own organization.
  • Can demonstrate a rational and organized approach to the tasks undertaken and an awareness of the need to achieve quality
  • Experience of running agile project management based small teams.
  • Familiarity with either TM1 or Alteryx applications would be ideal, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
  •  Excellent communication skills
  •  Good analytical ability, attention to detail, and understanding of the importance of commercial constraints
  • Can demonstrate good problem-solving abilities
