Job Description

As part of the key role in the project team, Buyer Development Manager focuses on developing new key buyer community for our project – Malaysian International Furniture Fair (MIFF). The incumbent shall develop recruitment and engagement go to strategies to achieve new key buyers’ recruitment and existing buyers’ retention in the global furniture market.

The incumbent will be apt in building strong relationships with key buyers in identifying their sourcing needs and requirements to promote their new supplier acquisition in MIFF.

The goal is to contribute in sustaining and growing business revenue by ensuring the key buyers sourcing needs are met and constant growth of key buyers onboarding to MIFF.  At the same time, promote value propositions to MIFF exhibitors with our ability to deliver increased and high quality international buyers with support of a global network.

You will play an important role to:

  • Develop, implement, and optimize buyer development strategies to compliment sales efforts by recruiting new buyers in targeted furniture industry across regions attend to the event
  • Drive new buyers prospecting, high quality new buyers’ recruitment and engagement in all regions through all possible channels.
  • Develop, engage, and build relationship strategies with industry stakeholders to acquire new buyer prospects
  • Be the strategic partner and advisor to the key buyers, go beyond to discover their sourcing needs and requirements. Retain and nurture those key relationships over time strategically
  • Gather market intelligence and research data to gain market insights about buyer sourcing needs and trends to design go-to-market campaign strategy to reach out potential high-quality buyers
  • Ongoing follow up and clean up new buyer leads, sourcing information in Database Management system
  • Provide full onboarding and administrative support to key buyers that agree to attend the event.
  • Working closely with marketing team to generate call-to-action buyer promotion campaigns
  • Submit timely progress updates to the line manager to enhance buyer development programme

Qualifications

  • Degree holder or above in Marketing / Advertising / Business or related disciplines
  • More than 5 years’ experience in sales, marketing, communications or procurement consultative services.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with professionals of all organizational levels
  • Good attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability in problem-solving and customer centric
  • Experience working in a collaborative environment
  • Self-initiative, well-organized and able to work under pressure
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
