Job Description

The Researcher’s role will be to research and update content in the airport and ground handling services database. This database is used to create the, AC-U-KWIK and Air Charter Guide products and is also used in a wider capacity within the AWN group. The database is updated using a variety of primary information sources to provide a rich source for data for customers both large and small.

An ideal candidate will have a background in data collection, database management and quality assurance, and will be skilled at independent research and working seamlessly within cross-functional teams. In addition, a background of aircraft scheduling and dispatch would be a distinct advantage.

Position Responsibilities:

This position focuses on data collection, database update and research of company and facility data. Specific duties and key skills or attributes:

  • Send out update forms to airport and company managers.
  • Process returned update forms, fielding enquiries and filing.
  • Research official aviation publications and company literature to update database records.
  • Proof-read of content for print products according to the production schedule.
  • Manage product tasks, timelines/deadlines and deliverables to internal production teams and external customers using personal initiative to ensure timely delivery.
  • Evaluate and improve sources and collection methods. Recommend/lead new procedures, models, reports and/or data sources to improve products.
  • Quality checks on collected data to ensure both fidelity and data integrity.  
  • Assist in creating customized reports for customers and colleagues.
  • Work independently while interacting in cross-functional or matrixed teams.

Please note that this role will be office-based to begin with, and then a transition into a hybrid working model (balanced office and work from home). 

Our offices are based at Fairoaks Airport with no public transport connections. Therefore, all suitable candidates would need the ability to travel to our offices independently.



  • Admin/research-related work experience
  • Data-driven and focused on attention to detail
  • Independent, organised, self-motivated and with outstanding communication skills
  • Microsoft Office products
  • Occasional travel (international and domestic) may be required


  • Experience of the airline/air transport industry, preferably in a scheduler/dispatcher role
  • Educated to degree level
