Job Description

We will require this person to commit to travelling to the Colchester office 2-3 days a week.

The HR SSO is responsible for the full ‘Hire to Retire’ employment cycle of approx. 11,000 colleagues globally and is split into 3 areas, HR SSO EMEA, HR SSO America’s, HR SSO APAC .

HR SSO EMEA is responsible for the provision of services to approx. 4000 colleagues and is split into three further areas, Pre-employment Onboarding and Administration.

You must ensure that all company policies are adhered to. You must also ensure that duties are carried out within set time limits whilst providing an excellent level of service to all Informa customers and colleagues.

This role is critical to the successful onboarding of new Colleagues in Informa, from pre-employment through their career journey with Informa.

Key responsibilities

The HR SSO Onboarding Team Leader is expected to assume the following responsibilities plus any other reasonable duties as required:

·         Establish effective relationships and encourage collaboration across various HR and Divisional groups including HR SSO, wider Onboarding Project Team, HR BP’s, Talent Management, HRIS, Payroll, Benefits, MIM and IT Teams.

·         Manage the HR SSO Onboarding team in their daily activities, mentor/coach team members to resolve situations, and make final decisions related to escalated issues

·         There is no such thing as a typical week as this role requires a degree of adaptability and agile, tactical delivery (Think Big, Act Small is one of our Guiding Principles)

·         Acts as a Subject Matter Expert on HR SSO Onboarding processes and how this impacts and links to the pre-employment and admin tasks.

·         To proactively identify, develop and implement improvements to procedures to enhance efficiency with the learner in mind

·         Ensure appropriate work tasks and projects are distributed within the team

·         Proactively plan, schedule and monitor the teams and own performance against deadlines

·         Identify areas for concern/training where possible

·         Provision of ongoing initial new starter training and ongoing training on relevant HR systems and processes

·         To assist in communication and implementation of company policies and initiatives

·         Handles diverse and confidential information requiring extreme accuracy, with independent judgement and discretion.

·         Assist with HR SSO projects and initiatives

·         Ad-hoc reporting when required

·         Internal/External Audit Support

People Management Responsibilities

·         Team workload management

·         Motivate team to ensure performance metrics are hit

·         Support communication structures across the team to ensure all key messages are communicated

·         Support Head of HR SSO to develop a plan for cross-training, work shadowing and rotation of responsibilities within team

·         Provides coaching on both soft and technical skills within the team

·         Participate in Recruitment & Selection processes

·         Act as a role model to others

·         Team admin duties such as absence management, holiday authorisations, timesheet approvals etc

Skills & Abilities

·         Ability to act with integrity, tact and diplomacy with sensitive and confidential information and handle it in a secure and safe manner at all times

·         Intermediate skills in Excel, Word and Outlook are essential

·         Good communication skills with the ability to build good relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, internal departments and key contacts

·         Knowledge and ability to use relevant internal systems

·         Improves processes & systems

·         Problem solves within tight deadlines

·         Be pro-active and take initiative

·         Good influencing skills

·         Highly organised, diligent with attention to detail

Qualifications

·         Experienced in Administration, Operations and Leadership

·         Previous experience within a recruitment environment or Learning and Development
