Job Description

The Event Show Manager must have a “can-do” attitude and an open-minded approach to projects and ideas and provide strong customer and value-added service to internal and external clients and partners. The goal of the position is to lead and execute the brand strategy in a manner that will drive the efficiency and growth of the product.

Primary Responsibilities:

 Work closely with Vice President, Group Director, and team to deliver consistently high performing products and services

·        Manage execution of partner agreements and function as liaison for partners at Senior Management discretion

·        Establish strong relationships with association show sponsors and other show partners, providing clear direction for show-related activities

·        Analyze processes and bring greater organization and efficiencies to projects and the show overall

·        Develop and maintain the production schedule, verifying that deadlines are adhered to and ensuring timeliness of team’s performance (i.e., communication, deliverables)

·        Lead team meetings in the absence of Group Director

Manage TISE booth | sponsorship sales and supervise an empowered, successful TISE sales team

·        Create annual strategic sales plans in line with the communities we serve to achieve revenue goals and to increase opportunities for revenue and profit growth

·        Develop long and short-term goals to support strategic plans and annual budgets

·        Develop strong relationships with exhibitors ensuring that all communication is clear, concise, and consistent with show guidelines

·        Develop the sales team to leverage strengths and provide training for weaknesses

·        Provide opportunities for growth, empowerment, accountability, and cohesion of team

·        Manage structured and unstructured communication to ensure clarity around vision, group goals, opportunities and challenges and tracking against timelines

·        Perform reviews, lead | participate in hiring process, and seek disciplinary action (including termination) if necessary

·        Develop commission plans and submit performance results for payouts

Manage TISE financials

·        Assist Director with development of annual budget and accurate forecasts, ensuring that revenue goals are met, and expenses do not exceed budget

·        Work with Director to make annual pricing recommendations to be approved by Senior Management

·        Manage the show close process accurate reporting on forecasts and accruals

Other

·        Function as integral part of show management effort, performing additional duties as required

Qualifications

Travel as requested to conferences, client meetings, competitive events, trade shows, etc.

Sales motivator

Three to five years managing major trade shows with strong working knowledge of facilities, general contractors, freight, floor plans and other event related areas

Strategic thinker and approach for continued growth and expansion

Previous management experience

High level of proficiency in the use of standard computer software including Microsoft Office

Experience with sales database management systems (preferably Sales Force) and CAD systems

Project management-oriented with superior attention to detail and outstanding organizational and prioritization skills

Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Strong team player who can motivate and inspire staff who also interacts well with external clients and vendors
