Job Description

What we’re looking for:

The Content, Data, & Insights team is seeking a Market Research Manager. The Research Manager will work to help design and execute market intelligence and market research survey projects using a wide array of primary and secondary information sources as well as qualitative and quantitative survey research methodologies. Much of our work utilizes a variety of research types to develop a balanced perspective and unique insights. Creative problem solving and the ability to work with an array of qualitative and quantitative inputs is needed in this role.

This position is good for someone part way into their insights career looking for a role where they can take ownership for the research and insights creation process. The Research Manager will work directly with internal partners and external clients using research as a basis for innovation consulting and decision making. As a member of our content team there will also be an opportunity for the Research Manager to present their work at our Natural Products Expos in-person or virtual events.

  • While travel is not currently required for this role, Informa Markets is an events business and travel to our events and for client engagements may be required sometime in the future.

In this role you will:

  • Lead and manage research projects from design through completion working with clients, contractors, internal resources and your own experience and initiative
  • Own and lead the execution of survey-based market research projects, sometimes with the help of programming and data tabulation resources and sometimes with direct execution of all market research activities (including programming, field management, data processing, analysis and reporting)
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of market sizing models
  • Contribute to the creation of new syndicated reporting and subscription services
  • Conduct interviews with key industry stakeholders, undertake desk research, and execute custom survey-based research
  • Translate data into forward-looking analysis, actionable insights, and predictions
  • Create insightful and actionable insights in both published and presentation formats
  • Engage with internal partners, external clients and industry leaders and influencers
  • Inform and inspire New Hope content creation with the use of market understanding, data and insights
  • Work with our content team to inspire, inform, and directly contribute to the content creation process
  • Present content and research at Natural Products Expo East and West and possibly other Informa Markets U.S. Health & Nutrition events
  • Support marketing and sales efforts by creating syndicated market intelligence deliverables, supporting content marketing efforts, and engaging in study scoping, project design, and bidding activity


What you bring to the team:

  • Experience with a wide variety of custom survey research methodologies and study types
  • Experience conducting market intelligence or research and developing relevant and actionable insights for businesses, either client-side or with a professional services firm
  • Experience with quantitative market research survey design, programming, field management, data processing, analysis and reporting
  • Strategic thinking skills with an ability to tie insights back to practical business implications
  • Confidence presenting research results
  • Exposure to study design and pricing from either a client-side or services firm perspective
  • Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of consumer trends and the cultural and lifestyle issues which surround them
  • Knowledge of the natural products industry either through personal values and lifestyle choices or professional experience
  • A proactive approach to managing workloads
  • Ability to explain concepts in a clear, concise way
  • Strong writing skills and a proven ability to write compelling narratives as well as presentation decks to bring insights to life and deliver compelling recommendations
  • Exceptional interpersonal and confident communication skills, including presentations and public speaking
  • Exceptionally well-organized, detail-oriented, quality-focused and effective at multi-tasking in a dynamic environment
  • Collaborative, positive attitude with a desire to work in a dynamic and evolving business
  • Business savvy, analytic mindset and client service orientation
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and proactive problem-solving skills and a willingness to ‘figure it out’
