We are looking for Physical Therapist Assistant in Staten Island, NY for Fulltime position.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
Teaches patients how to use assistive and adaptive devices such as crutches, prostheses, and wheelchairs.
Administer manual exercises, massage or traction to help relieve pain, increase patient strength or decrease or prevent deformity. May use electrical stimulation, hot packs, cold compresses, and ultrasound to relieve pain and reduce swelling.
Record prognosis, treatment, response and progress in patient's chart or computer database.
Implement treatment plans as per appropriate protocols and directed by the licensed Physical Therapist.
Perform age appropriate competency skills with respect to individual patient’s problems.
Consistently report to physical therapist, patient progress/ status to allow for updated of goals and modifications by physical therapist of treatment program.
Assist physical therapist in utilizing appropriate methods and materials for effective learning, monitoring response to education and adapting program appropriately.
Ensure that patient/ family understands when and how to receive further treatment.
Ability to work well as a team member with other clinicians, PT aides and front office staff.
Work independently in conjunction with the guidance of the Physical Therapists.
Attend continuing education seminars to further practicing knowledge.
Ensure timely flow of patient schedule.
Maintain treatment area.
Adheres to Compliance policies.
Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.
Must be able to act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
At least one year of working experience.
Associates Degree or higher.
Successful completion of physical therapist assistant program of accredited school.
Current New York State License.
Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
Current BLS Certification
Familiar with the regulations and requirements for OSHA, CLIA and HIPAA and aware of the compliance requirements as enacted by Federal, State and local jurisdictions.
Demonstrate skill in fully documenting clinical activities.
Demonstrated ability to work well alone, with minimal supervision and as a member of a clinical team.
Must possess strong communication and organization skills.
Proficient in computer scheduling and electronic medical records.
Working knowledge of PC’s and Microsoft Windows
