• Designs and deliver solutions in accordance with the defined architecture
• Reviews designs and software developed within team to ensure it is in accordance with the defined architecture
• Takes full ownership of all assigned tasks ensuring objectives are met
• Provides technical expertise in the diagnosis and resolution of issues, including the determination and provision of workaround solutions
• Ensures delivered solutions are able to scale to the agreed user concurrency and maintain high availability
• Creates documentation for all levels of software development life cycle
• Assists in the production of estimates for work ensuring estimates are realistic and achievable
• Assists in the establishment of and follow design standards, design patterns and best practices

• Solid Java fundamentals—including a good understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
• Demonstrable problem solving skills
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• A breadth of knowledge with some expertise in multiple domains
• Experience writing applications of several types
• Distributed systems experience
• Ability to drive-out project plans
• Ability to fulfill a leadership role
• Effective team collaboration skills
