Job Description
As a Test Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality of our products by driving QA excellence across the squad. You will be responsible for designing effective testing strategies, implementing robust automated testing solutions, and promoting quality best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
Working closely with developers, Product Owners, and stakeholders, you will help build a quality-first culture while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the squad, tribe, and QA community.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement best practices for test design, test automation, and quality assurance.
- Design, develop, and execute functional, regression, integration, and performance test scenarios and test cases.
- Develop, maintain, and improve automated test frameworks and test scripts.
- Ensure high-quality standards throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Promote and reinforce quality engineering principles within the squad.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify risks and improve product quality.
- Challenge existing processes and proactively propose improvements and innovative solutions.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous delivery practices.
- Share knowledge, contribute to QA communities, and support the evolution of testing practices across the organization.
Main Activities
- Design and maintain functional, regression, and performance test suites.
- Develop and maintain automated testing scripts and frameworks.
- Analyze requirements and define appropriate testing strategies.
- Execute and monitor automated and manual tests when required.
- Report, track, and support the resolution of defects.
- Collaborate with development teams to improve test coverage and software reliability.
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies within the squad and tribe.
- Participate in QA community initiatives, knowledge-sharing activities, and best-practice discussions.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in Java-based test automation frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Selenium
- Cucumber (Java)
- Strong knowledge of:
- Gherkin
- Test design techniques
- Software testing methodologies
- Solid understanding of:
- BDD (Behavior-Driven Development)
- TDD (Test-Driven Development)
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Good knowledge of:
- Git
- CI/CD pipelines and Continuous Integration practices
- SQL and database testing concepts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Fluent English (written and spoken).
Nice to Have
- Experience with Cypress.
- Knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts and protocols.
- Experience with Keycloak.
- Previous experience in the Banking or Life Insurance industry.
- French language skills.

- Availability to travel within Portugal when required.
- Availability for occasional international travel.
