This role suits a highly experienced architect with strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of modern application architectures and the ability to drive governance, standards and architectural direction across complex organizations.

You will work across business domains to ensure full alignment with the enterprise reference architecture, regulatory requirements and long‑term technology strategy, while guiding teams in best practices for application architecture, microservices, integration and security.

Responsibilities:

  • Define, evolve and maintain the application reference architecture, ensuring alignment with business requirements, technology strategy and regulatory constraints;

  • Translate business needs into scalable, secure and compliant technical solutions, ensuring consistency across domains and platforms;

  • Lead and enforce architecture governance, including principles, standards, guidelines, review processes and decision frameworks;

  • Promote and guide the adoption of modern architectural patterns, including microservices, API‑driven design, cloud‑native principles and event‑based integration;

  • Collaborate with global and cross‑functional teams, ensuring architectural coherence and supporting strategic decision‑making;

  • Contribute to the evolution of security architecture, ensuring compliance with GDPR and internal security policies;

  • Produce clear, structured and comprehensive architectural documentation (logical/functional/technical designs, roadmaps, reference models);

  • Participate in and influence strategic programs, ensuring architectural alignment and long‑term sustainability of solutions;

  • Act as a trusted advisor to business and technology stakeholders, supporting complex discussions and driving adoption of architectural best practices;

  • Identify the need for new applications, microservices or integration components, including the design and specification of APIs;

  • Support Agile delivery teams by providing architectural guidance, reviewing designs and ensuring adherence to standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field;

  • 7–10+ years of experience in Solution Architecture or Enterprise Architecture in complex environments;

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with global teams and senior stakeholders;

  • Proven experience in strategic projects and large‑scale transformation initiatives;

  • Strong understanding of the Energy & Utilities sector and GDPR requirements (highly valued);

  • Solid experience with application architecture, integration patterns, and modern solution design;

  • Strong knowledge of microservices, API design, cloud architectures and emerging technology trends;

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA and Confluence (valued);

  • Certification in architecture (TOGAF, Azure Architect, AWS Architect, etc.) is a plus;

  • Ability to analyze complex business requirements and map them to enterprise‑level architectural models;

  • Fluency in English (mandatory); Portuguese and Spanish are valued.

Nice to Have

  • Experience presenting and defending architectural designs to senior stakeholders;

  • Ability to identify the need for new applications or microservices and design corresponding API specifications;

  • Knowledge of Client Solutions within the utilities sector is highly desirable.
