Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Unix System Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, configuration, and maintenance of our Unix-based systems. This role requires deep technical knowledge of Unix operating systems, as well as strong problem-solving and communication skills.
CONTEXT
· Responsible for operational availability, performance, and security of Unix infrastructure across on-prem and cloud.
· Rotating on-call to ensure service continuity per contractual SLAs.
MAIN ACTIVITIES
· Administer and maintain Unix-based systems, including installation, configuration, and upgrades.
· Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality.
· Implement and manage system security policies and permissions to ensure data integrity and compliance.
· Perform regular backups and ensure disaster recovery plans are in place and tested.
· Optimize system performance through tuning and resource management.
· Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate Unix systems with various applications and services.
· Develop and maintain documentation for Unix system configurations, processes, and procedures.
· Provide technical support and guidance to IT staff and end-users regarding Unix system-related issues.
· Plan and execute system migrations and upgrades.
· Stay current with industry trends and best practices related to Unix systems and related technologies.
Qualifications
· 3–5 years of hands-on Unix administration in operations/run.
· Rigorous, service-oriented, autonomous, strong team player.
· Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills (written/verbal).
· Fluent in English; technical English required.
· Able to manage priorities and perform under on-call conditions.
