Job Description
HOW YOU SHOW UP
You are an authentic and genuine individual, guided by our culture and mission. You are the face of the store, and with this, you curate a welcoming and caring experience for our customers. You embody the Indigo Experience by sparking inspiration through reading, and enriching our booklovers lives with stories. As a Customer Experience Representative (CER) you are a part of a diverse team who encourages each other everyday to approach our roles with kindness and care.
The holidays can be a stressful and difficult time for some, and as a customer service expert, dealing with hundreds of people a week, you are someone who comes to work with compassion, patience, and empathy while maintaining a fun-loving energy.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Create a welcoming and caring environment in our store
- Add joy to our customers' lives
- Leverage our product to tell stories
- Engage and connect with our customers on the floor
- Curate specific product collections for each customer you meet
- Ensure Visual Standards are followed and maintained
- Role model Indigo’s High Performance Characteristics
- Seek information regarding new products, promotions and programs
- Contribute to an environment where everyone knows their health and safety is a top priority and where everyone actively participates in ensuring the health and safety of each other and our customers
- Take accountability to ensure customer feedback is responded to in a timely manner
- Hold self and others accountable
- Own self-development and provide continuous feedback to colleagues and Leadership Team
- Share ideas with Leadership Team on how to improve the employee and customer experience
Qualifications
WHO YOU ARE (AKA OUR DREAM TEAM PLAYER!)
- A customer service superstar with at least 1 year of making people smile (experience preferred, but enthusiasm is a must!)
- A cash-handling wizard who can make registers sing (1 year of experience preferred)
- A cool cucumber who thrives in the hustle and bustle of our busiest days
- A chameleon who loves to learn and can adapt faster than you can say "bestseller"
- A customer service Jedi who can wave their hand and make any problem disappear
- A weightlifting champion (okay, maybe not, but you can lift up to 40 pounds safely – we'll supply the cape!)
- A time-bending wizard with at least 25 hours a week to spare, including evenings and weekends (Time-Turner not included)
- A schedule juggler extraordinaire, ready to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and even those mysterious "early mornings" we've heard about
Bonus points if you can recite the alphabet backwards while gift-wrapping a book with one hand! (Just kidding, but we do love a good party trick!)
