Job Description
The Digital Product Content Copywriter is responsible for writing product copy for all General Merchandise products on indigo.ca. This role will drive a best-in-class customer experience in our digital storefront, by creating compelling copy that will enhance decision support for customers and SEO.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Functional
- Write engaging and accurate online product descriptions for General Merchandise products to enhance the customer journey across product pages and drive conversion
- Maintain Indigo’s brand voice across product categories
- Write and edit SEO while implementing best practices to improve search results
- Assist with SEO strategy to improve organic search engine performance based on traffic and conversion rates by targeting keywords
- Coordinate with Merchant teams, Photo Studio and Translation, with an eye to process improvement
- Ensure the completion of team deliverables and set/adhere to team budgets, as applicable
- Act as an advocate for the customer by placing them at the forefront of all design and decision-making processes
- Proactively identify and anticipate customer expectations and needs
- Embrace and seek out technology that creates high tech and high touch solutions for Indigo’s customers
- Challenge the status quo and consistently identify areas for improvement, diagnose issues and working to resolve them

- Collaborate with others to drive flexible and iterative solutions, quickly and easily
- Share technical knowledge with others and actively seek to learn from those more knowledgeable than yourself

Qualifications
WHO YOU ARE:
- 2-3 years’ experience writing product descriptions for a large retailer, fashion or lifestyle brand
- Post Secondary Degree with a focus in Journalism, Communications, or related field
- Breadth of knowledge across General Merchandise retail categories
- Excellent written, English, communication and presentation skills
- Strong organizational skills and high level of attention to detail, with ability to multi-task and manage priorities and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated with an ability to work as part of a team, but also complete individual work
- Customer focused, energetic and savvy with strong attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills
- Ability to build and foster strong, collaborative relationships
