Job Description
The Manager, DevOps will lead the development of innovative new cloud-based software solutions and re-engineer current services to enable the next generation of Indigo’s Digital experiences. In partnership with eCommerce technology peers, this role will lead a team of engineers in creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, establishing monitoring of infrastructure and applications, and ensuring the ongoing availability of high-quality experiences on Indigo’s omnichannel Digital platform. As a leader within the Indigo Digital team, the Manager, DevOps will inspire a customer-first culture by ensuring high-quality application delivery, system reliability and best-in-class customer experience.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Functional
- Establish DevOps procedures and practices to support Indigo Digital engineering teams’ productivity, agility and code quality
- Streamline software development lifecycle by identifying pain points and productivity barriers and determining ways to resolve them
- Implement and evangelize the use of CI/CD, monitoring and alerting tools throughout the Digital organization
- Lead a team of DevOps engineers in the delivery and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines and processes for the next generation of Indigo’s Digital Platform
- Implement monitoring and alerting processes to ensure a highly reliable experience
- Partner with internal NOC to continuously monitor and manage application performance and service quality, including initial troubleshooting, identification of root causes and issue resolution
- Ensure availability of pre-production environments and key tooling required by delivery teams across the Digital organization
- Analyze functional, technical and business requirements for projects
- Collaborate with Architecture, Engineering and Operations Teams on system/server architecture and planning to ensure scalability/reliability/maintainability targets can be measured and met
- Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to analyze and troubleshoot complex production issues
- Partner with Operations teams for improvements to the underlying infrastructure
- Ensure security best practices are observed throughout the build and deployment phase of the SDLC
- Act as an advocate for the customer by placing them at the forefront of all design and decision-making processes
- Embrace and seek out technology that creates high tech and high touch solutions for Indigo’s customers

Qualifications
WHO YOU ARE:
- Computer Science Degree, other related diploma or equivalent experience accompanied with formal computer training
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a DevOps Engineer, Cloud Architect or similar role
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with large cloud-based solutions, ideally in eCommerce
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience leading a team
- Excellent knowledge of SRE/DevOps practices and policies
- Highly experienced with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment tooling; TeamCity / Octopus Deploy / GitHub Actions an asset
- Experience with Azure/GCP, in particular with AKS/GKS
- Experience with monitoring and alerting systems, New Relic and PagerDuty preferred.
- Strong knowledge of key architectural components of a highly scalable eCommerce platform
- Comfortable leading a team engaged in both Windows (.NET/IIS/MSSQL) and Linux (NodeJS) workloads
- Proven experience in communicating highly technical scenarios to business stakeholders, both verbally and in writing
- Detail-oriented, able to concentrate and work quickly
- Ability and enthusiasm to learn new technologies
- Experience with eCommerce platforms, such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud or Manhattan is an asset
