Job Description

The Program Manager is responsible for making tangible operational changes within functional departments and across customer journeys by leading the planning, development and implementation of transformational strategies across the organization. The Manager acts as a liaison between project stakeholders by serving as a problem solver and provides the process, questions, and techniques required for successful project delivery.

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

Program Management

  • Manages programs with high regulatory oversight, and manages a cross-functional project team consisting of various stakeholders
  • Manage through complexity and ambiguity by creating a structured, but flexible approach to project delivery
  • Create simple storylines from complex situations to enable efficient communication, visualization of deliverables and project engagement at all levels
  • Create and implement guidelines for evaluating program strengths and areas where improvement is required
  • Ensure master program plans and schedules are created and followed by developing solutions to program challenges
  • Develop program level reports and presentations to facilitate discussions across project leadership and the enterprise
  • Ensure the execution of team deliverables and adapt team priorities based on changing needs
  • Support the business in delivering programs by executing program and project management deliverables, working with relevant partners to develop deliverables, defining the project plan and creating follow up plans to sustain
  • Routinely provide oversight and consulting of multiple projects to achieve a unified transformational vision and provide direction to others for successful completion of value add, on-time, on-budget projects
  • Effectively manage project resources and external contractors / consultants in coordination of competing priorities
  • Partner with senior leadership and relevant stakeholders; remove roadblocks where necessary
  • Scope new initiative opportunities or business issues and develop related business cases

Project Management Advocacy

  • Proactively identify and implement best practices
  • Challenge the status quo by consistently identifying areas for improvement, diagnosing issues and working to resolve them
  • Educates project team members on governance process and facilitates related sessions

Customer Centricity

  • Act as an advocate for the customer by placing them at the forefront of all design and decision-making processes
  • Embrace and seek out technology that creates high tech and high touch solutions for Indigo’s customers
  • Proactively identify and anticipate customer expectations and needs

Vendor Management

  • Support vendor management and strategic sourcing process, managing RFP activities and partnering with vendor(s) to ensure efficient and effective project delivery

Change Leader

  • Applies Organizational Change Management principles and practices in order to effectively manage the people side of change (e.g., stakeholder analysis, business process management, people readiness, sustainment planning, etc.)

Qualifications

WHO YOU ARE: 

  • 5-7+  years progressive program-related experience
  • Knowledge of the practices, procedures and principles of project management (waterfall, Agile, Scrum)
  • Experience working with project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar) and digital tools (i.e JIRA or similar).
  • Exposure to financial management with respect to tracking, forecasting and managing project budgets
  • Team player with ability to influence and achieve results through effective negotiation, problem solving
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  •  Ability to build and maintain authentic and productive relationships with both colleagues and vendors
  • A leader with a passion for managing projects and teams with a sense of pride and accountability
  • Strong analytical skills, meticulous attention-to-detail, and a robust knowledge of everything retail and digital.
  • Demonstrated ability to own projects and programs and deliver results.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to leverage critical thinking skills help to inform decision making
  • Driven by collective success, with an understanding that collaboration can transform a good idea into a great one, as well as the power of an inclusive team that enjoys working together to create shared vision
  • Experience in retail and large digital and non-digital transformation programs is required
