Job Description

The Indigo Marketing Specialist supports the strategy, planning, implementation and execution of Indigo’s customer-centric marketing programs to drive growth, traffic and brand equity for the Indigo adult business (print, living, wellness, gifting).  

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

  • Support execution of adult marketing programs and campaigns across print and GM businesses 
  • Support full-year strategy pillars, including cross-functional projects, that touch the adult business 
  • Oversee & execute mass marketing briefs with creative studio and digital marketing team including work-back schedules, creative and approval processes 
  • Support cross-functional ideation process for creative marketing campaigns that deliver breakthrough creative that is– on strategy & on brand 
  • Review creative and copy decks to ensure brand adherence and guidelines are met across multiple channels, including for mass promotions 
  • Act as the Marketing lead for key brand/vendor partnerships including publishing partners  
  • Act as marketing partner for mass promotions (reviewing copy/signage, supporting with heat tickets) 
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners, including cross-functional marketing teams, creative, retail operations, merchants and media agency, to ensure alignment and integration of all customer touch points  
  • Develop key communications for front-line teams (FLT calls, CER communications)  
  • Responsible for budget tracking & management  
  • Responsible for weekly reporting and post-mortems of key projects and quarterly results  
  • Act as an advocate for the customer by placing them at the forefront of all decision-making and design processes 
  • Challenge the status quo by consistently identifying areas for improvement, diagnosing issues and working to resolve them 
  • Influence and motivate cross-functional partners (Creative Studio, Merchants, Retail Operations) to support marketing efforts, while developing seamless partnerships 
  • Understand and demonstrate in a manner that promotes, and is aligned with Indigo’s Mission, Vision & Beliefs 

Qualifications

WHO YOU ARE: 

  • 3-5 years’ work experience in related field 
  • Retail and/or e-commerce experience preferred  
  • University Degree or College Diploma preferred 
  • Experience in consumer and brand marketing  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills  
  • Strong analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative 
  • Passionate about all things books, home and wellness 
  • Strong ability to initiate projects and see through to completion 
  • Results oriented with desire for personal accountability  
  • Superior project-management skills / flexible multi-tasker 
  • Experience working with advertising, media and copy development 
  • Ability to lead and manage cross functional teams including non-direct reports 
  • A willingness to take risks and make decisions; creative and innovative approach to problem solving 
  • Desire to continuously learn and improve what and how we do 
  • True believer in teamwork and the ability to understand the impact of one’s actions on another team, individual or process 
  • Positive attitude with a high degree of self-motivation and dynamism 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, one who thrives in an environment based on teamwork  
  • Travel as required
