Job Description

Indie Source's LA office seeks bright, motivated individuals with strong multi-tasking abilities for internship opportunities within its Public Relations Department to start as soon as possible. Applicants must be able to work a minimum of two full days a week (9:30 AM – 6 PM) with a full semester or 3 month commitment. Recent graduates along with applicants who are pursuing a degree in journalism, PR, communications, marketing, and fashion are encouraged to apply. Public Relations candidates should have a strong interest in fashion and entertainment culture.The ideal intern is web and computer savvy, informed about news and the blogosphere, a creative mind and able to thrive in a deadline-driven environment. They must have strong communication skills and must be comfortable with interacting with stylists and talent with a positive and enthusiastic attitude. Some interns may be asked to also work after usual work hours for assistance with industry events. Previous PR experience preferred. Responsibilities

*included but not limited to*
- Review magazines for editorial coverage
- Scan and create clips for all ran press credits and archive press clips
- Help with editor/influencer mailings, including seasonal lookbook distribution
- Update and maintain media database with current editorial contacts
- Help with special events
- Manage domestic and international sample trafficking using Fashion GPS
- Schedule messengers
- Assist stylists and editors with showroom pulls
- Assist in creating reports and research projects
- Help organize the showroom
- Draft press pitches
- General administrative duties including photo copying, department organization, press kit production, shipments, distribute magazines, expenses and mail distribution, etc

Qualifications

Policies and Requirements
*Minimum 2 days/week commitment (9:30 AM - 6 PM each day)
**Days must be approved by your INDIE SOURCe Supervisor and remain consistent from week to week unless intern is willing to work additional days
*More than 4 absences in 3 month period will result in immediate dismissal. **Your supervisor must be given AT LEAST 24-hours notice for any absences that are not the result of an emergency
*Must have reliable form of transportation
