Job Description

Start the new year off with a new opportunity! The Indiana University Foundation is seeking a Segmentation Analyst to drive smarter audience engagement and fundraising strategy across its Annual Giving initiatives.

In this role, you will help develop and refine audience segments to optimize donor outreach and engagement. You will collaborate with key stakeholders like our Crimson Service Center (CSC) analysts, IU partners, and internal marketing teams, to align audience strategy with campaign objectives. A core responsibility of this role is to interpret audience data, identify new opportunities, and help shape messaging, cadence, and engagement journeys over the course of the year.

Success in this role means being a storyteller who can translate audience insights into compelling narratives and strategic recommendations. You’ll be part of a highly collaborative team that thrives on brainstorming, sharing ideas, and co-creating innovative ways to deepen donor relationships. Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with audience segmentation, campaign planning, digital engagement, fundraising, marketing, or a related area.
  • Experience working with relational databases, CRM systems (Blackbaud CRM, Salesforce Einstein), and marketing automation tools preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, formulas, macros, etc.).
    • Familiarity with software such as SQL, Tableau, R, or Python is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience refining audience segments to enhance outreach and engagement opportunities.
  • Ability to interpret audience insights and develop strategic engagement plans.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with confidence in presenting findings and contributing to campaign discussions.
  • Skilled at synthesizing information and generating ideas, with a focus on strategy and problem-solving.
  • Understanding of donor/customer journeys, messaging cadence, and campaign planning.
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative environment, contributing to brainstorming and shared decision-making.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • A proactive and analytical mindset, continuously seeking ways to improve outreach and engagement strategies.
