Job Description

Are you an experienced Systems Administrator looking for your next challenge? The IU Foundation (IUF), IU Alumni Association (IUAA), and Indiana University (IU) are seeking a dynamic leader to join the team!

As the Systems Infrastructure Manager, you will lead a team of system administrators, database administrators, and applications administrators to configure, maintain, and secure all platforms, databases, servers, end user computer devices, and other infrastructure.

You will provide vision, direction, and oversight of the team by identifying risks, ensuring administration processes are standardized and will ensure that industry and vendor best practices are followed in the design, implementation, and maintenance of applications and infrastructure.

This role also involves serving as the most senior technical expert on the team, providing technical leadership and architecture in addition to coaching and mentoring of team members.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical-related field preferred but not required

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience providing system administration to Windows Servers and workstations.
    • Strong preference for experience in Microsoft Azure computer platform
  • Experience Managing a team with varying areas of responsibility
  • Awareness of industry trends in infrastructure, cloud computing, server design, business continuity, security, endpoint management.
  • Demonstrated success building an environment of trust, collaboration, and open honest communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with emphasis on negotiation, conflict resolution and change management
  • A high level of integrity and adherence to strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to multitask and set personal and team priorities
  • Demonstrated analytical ability for problem solving
  • Ability to handle stress and work in an environment with competing priorities from multiple organizations

Candidates must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, Indiana. This role can be on-site or hybrid-remote (quarterly in-person team meetings required).
