Job Description
Hire Salary: $23,400 annually ($12 per hour).
Job Description:
The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles is seeking qualified candidates to fill a Floating Team Leader position within the Indianapolis - Lawrence License Branch. This position oversees frontline customer service operations, troubleshoots customer and employee issues, and assists other branch employees in completing administrative transactions that support customer needs and day-to-day operations. Duties include:
Schedule daily assignments for Customer Service Representative (CSR).
Ensure all CSRs and frontline staff conduct work in a courteous, friendly, and respectful manner at all times.
Facilitate resolution for all customer complaints as escalated by the CSRs.
Provide relief and support to frontline operations and process customer transactions to maintain proper customer flow.
Conduct daily branch opening and closing procedures, in accordance with agency policies, procedures, and operating guidelines.
Monitor the inventory of all BMV products and office supplies.
Complete records and/or submit reports on a daily basis for all cash balances and deposits.
Audit and legal-check all CSR transactions to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and proper accounting.
Clarify, support, and provide guidance to branch staff in the interpretation and implementation of BMV policies and procedures.
Verify and approve weekly payroll reports for each branch.
Ensure training, development, and mentoring of CSRs.
Serve as the technical resource for all STARS transactions.
Communicate to the proper chain of command any equipment failures requiring service.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
Ability to interact and verbally communicate with a variety of employees and customers, both on a one-on-one basis and in groups.
Ability to present information to clients, customers, and employees.
Ability to write reports and operational correspondence.
Ability to rationalize customer concerns.
Ability to think logically in order to troubleshoot, analyze situations, and make sound decisions.
Ability to apply fundamental cash management and accounting principles.
Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, e-mail systems, and STARS.
Ability to operate office equipment, including copiers, fax machines, and phones.
Knowledge of basic machinery operation.
Good knowledge of BMV services and STARS.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience with the Bureau of Motor Vehicles or equivalent service industry experience.

Must be available to work License Branch Hours of Operation:
Tuesday, 8:30 am to 6:30 pm
Wednesday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
Saturday, 8:30 am to 12:30 pm
