We are seeking a highly skilled Network Performance & Optimization Engineer to join our team in Moshi Urban, Tanzania. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and efficiency of our network infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify, analyze, and resolve network performance issues while implementing innovative solutions to enhance overall network capabilities.

• Conduct regular network performance assessments and identify areas for improvement
• Develop and implement optimization strategies to enhance network efficiency and reliability
• Monitor network traffic patterns and analyze performance metrics to proactively address potential issues
• Troubleshoot complex network problems and provide timely resolutions
• Design and execute network capacity planning to accommodate future growth and demands
• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of network systems and applications
• Implement and maintain network security measures to protect against potential threats
• Create and maintain documentation for network configurations, processes, and procedures
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best practices in network optimization
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in network engineering or a similar role
• Proven track record in network performance optimization and troubleshooting
• Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, etc.) and network architecture
• Proficiency in using network performance monitoring tools and optimization techniques
• Experience with network simulation and modeling tools
• Solid scripting skills in languages such as Python or Perl
• Familiarity with network security principles and best practices
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are preferred
• Understanding of telecommunications infrastructure in Tanzania and local regulatory requirements
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, as required for network maintenance and upgrades

• This position is Hybrid
• It could start as a 12-month contract but can be renewable or converted to permanent.
