Job Description
- A top performing Graphic Designer for the Connected Video in-house advertising agency. A creative thinker who will play a vital role in the Marketing & Studio department working primarily on brand and marketing for and the app.
- It will be expected that technical design skills are continually improving; and that they keep up to date and relevant with design applications and trends. They will also be required to have a good understanding of our competitors, the SVOD industry and be familiar with ever changing best practices.
- Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the creation of original key art for productions, all marketing related design assets (BTL and ATL), always-on digital design assets for social media, performance marketing, content marketing, CVM, PR imagery, internal communications, and creation of platform key art assets, ensuring that all work is delivered on time, is of the highest possible standard and always adhering to brand guidelines.
- The Designer will need to ensure that the integrity of the brand is never compromised and will be responsible for maintaining and refreshing the CI Brand Guide.
- This person will need gain an understanding of target market in order understand how to communicate with our audiences visually within the structure of the brand identity and tone.
- This person will attend briefing sessions and roll out campaigns from brief to final design assets, keeping lines of communication open and transparent. Attention to detail is critical and the designer will need to be focused on perfection in their design, regardless the size of the task.
- The designer will be required to collaborate closely with the rest of the design team, art directors, copywriters, video editors and marketers on brand campaigns, partnership deals and Original productions with the confidence to present design concepts to creative and design managers and marketers.
- It is vital for their success and the success of the team that this person is honest, comfortable voicing their opinions tactfully and pushing back on bad design and visual communication requests and always pushing what is best for the design, the objective of the campaign and ultimately the business. They must have a good understanding of team/department/business goals and targets which must always be front of mind and being worked towards.
Qualifications
- Excellent proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
- Design skills including:
- Logo design
- Pixel perfect digital design
- Gif animation
- Photo editing
- Print design from small scale to massive out of home billboards
- Creation of final art for print designs
- Precise and acute attention to detail
- Layout according to hierarchy of information
- Visual communication
- Typography
- Designing for impact for performance marketing and social media
- HTML5 animation for web banners
- Good understanding of branding
- Excellent communication skills (English reading, writing, verbal)
- Presenting skills including presentation layout in Keynote and PowerPoint (including design of the slide deck when presenting work)
- Mac literate
Additional Information
- Minimum NQF5 Graphic Design Diploma or similar
- Degrees, diplomas and certificates are all good, but an impressive and fantastic portfolio could get you the job
- A minimum of 3 - 5 years experience in a relevant field
