Primary Functions

Impact Radius is looking for an engineer to focus on front-end development. You should have a passion for shipping elegant, responsive web interfaces using XHTML, CSS and JavaScript. We're a startup that cares about our customers, and you should too.

Responsibilities

• Code primarily in CSS, JavaScript and XHTML
• Work within Agile/Scrum process to develop software and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
• Work closely with and incorporate feedback from product management, interaction designers, back-end engineers, and other UI engineers
• Continuously optimize user-friendliness and client-side performance of existing features
• Maintain a keen eye for clean, elegant design with close attention to detail and pixel-perfect implementation across all major browsers
• Build interfaces which meet the diverse needs of customers across devices and platforms
• Rapidly fix bugs and suggest user experience enhancements
• Proactively improve your understanding of web technologies and best practices with guidance from senior engineers

• 1+ years’ experience with HTML and CSS (without WYSIWYG editors)
• 1+ years’ experience with JavaScript, with knowledge of but not reliant on object oriented JavaScript frameworks (ExtJS, YUI, etc.)
• BS in Computer Science or related field is preferred
• Understanding of responsive web design
• Familiarity with source control systems (Git is preferred)
• Working knowledge of browser-based development tools and other debugging best practices
• Knowledge of HTML5 capabilities is a plus
• Familiarity with Photoshop, Fireworks, or other image-editing software
