Job Description
Successful manufacturing company north of Charleston needs a Planner to coordinate production planning and inventory control. Works to ensure delivery of products to each process stage and to the customer at the right time.
· Manage Outbound and Inbound Transportation activities (Modes: Ocean, Truck, Rail)
· Develop long term planning & partnerships with transportation partners to optimize and rationalize supply chains
· Work with each production area to plan production schedules that optimize efficiency, meet customer demands, and allow for maintenance/shutdowns.
· Monthly Targets: set production targets that will allows for planned downtime, meeting shipping targets and adjust inventory as needed to meet year end goals
· Meet with area managers/deputies and maintenance to establish production plan and priorities. Look through inventory, cycle count, excel to build and manage schedule.
· Inventory Management (RM, GE and Pins): Physical Counts, SAP updates, Excel/SQL Database management
· Weekly and monthly meetings that interface with sales, central SCM and other groups to discuss orderbook changes, forecast outlook etc. This information is used to adjust the production schedule.
Qualifications
· BS degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, Logistics, or similar is a must.
· Three to five years’ experience in an industrial manufacturing operation, preferably in something like chemicals, paper, concrete, steel, building materials.
· In-depth experience with SAP and Excel software.
· Experience with production processes, production planning, logistics planning.
