Job Description

  • As Leader of Sales, the IKEA for business Manager is responsible for developing and implementing the Sales Strategy for IKEA for Business in Mexico, covering all focus customer segments. This is to be done in close cooperation with the Selling, Marketing and Fulfillment Management.
  • Responsible for meeting segments-specific sales- and margin-targets, as well as other KPIs.
  • Provide general support for the Sales teams in all Mexico’s stores.

Sales Leadership

  • Proactively identify and contact larger potential clients, with focus on top segments.
  • Support IKEA for business leaders at the stores on negotiations with larger clients, upon request.
  • In cooperation with the Fulfilment function, oversee the execution of larger orders, and manage the communication and follow-up with the customers.
  • Support the operation of the IKEA for business sales counters in the stores, to motivate the front co-workers, and through the good example install a positive mindset of responsibility, care, and customer service.
  • In coordination with Marketing, devise and establish on- and off-line promotional activities in support of sales within the different customer verticals.

Customer contacts - Online, Offline, and Direct Approach Sales Initiatives

  • Be responsible for follow-up and follow-through on all customer leads generated through any of the customer touchpoints, to ensure that customers experience that they are ‘attended to’ and that sales opportunities thereby are optimized.
  • Ensure that all customers get a positive and reassuring experience when meeting IKEA for business.

Customer Acquisition and CRM Content

  • Be responsible for acquisition of new customers, as well as for supporting the establishment of the qualitative and quantitative content of the company’s CRM system, which shall provide the base for all interactions with the customers.

Customer Loyalty Program

  • Together with the IKEA for business Steering team members, develop and implement the membership loyalty program and oversee the population of data for Mexico.

Sustainability

  • Ensure that the company’s competitive advantage within Sustainability is incorporated into the general sales message, in support of the overall image of IKEA for Business.

Knowledge

  • Good conceptual and practical understanding of IKEA’s profile and range, with ability to communicate the IKEA concept to customers.
  • At least 5-7 year experience in sales to professional customers, with proven track record, preferably within interior furnishings, or related industries.
  • Good commercial understanding of offline as well as online marketing/sales, as well as dynamics and opportunities within multi-channels sales.
  • Alignment with IKEA’s Sustainability strategy, and knowledge of how to communicate principles.
  • Fluent in verbal and written English & Spanish.
