Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

  • To ensure staffing optimisation process delivers to the needs of the store while continuously seeking and coordinating business opportunities through optimised staff planning focused on our co-worker, customer and business.

ASSIGNMENT TASKS

  • Together with Business Navigation manager and Human Resource Manager and input from SPO Manager contribute to the store staffing approach followed by the development of a store staffing action plan which secures best use of available resources, a diverse, appropriate staff structure and meets the defined business and productivity goals, therefore contributing to the reaching of the regional staffing approach.
  • Aware of the people strategy and ensuring the regional and local principles/ guidelines are implemented in the staff planning process reflected in our co-workers schedules and advise to Human Resource on recruitment and store staffing structure.
  • Responsible for safeguarding the stores complete staff planning process from forecasting to execution of the schedule, by timely posting of schedules, ensuring scheduled hours include planned absences, advising managers in maximizing resource availability and skill-base across all departments while co-worker, customer and business needs are sustained.
  •  Responsible for following up on the store Staff planning process forecasting, where highlighting commercial influences are taken into consideration, identifying and escalating when the scheduled or actual hours exceed the agreed financial framework and possible improvements in the process for the store are identified, to following up that schedules comply with all labour rules and internal requirements.
  • Contribute to the delivery of objectives in the store staffing approach by securing close follow-up on staff planning and related retail KPI's with accurate reporting leading to exploring best practices and opportunities for benchmarking throughout the regional staff planning matrix organisation.
  • Identify talent ensuring the competence development and succession planning for the Staff planning Specialists by providing transfer of knowledge, expertise and training in all aspects of the staff planning process.

  • Good personal disciplines and an ability to work within set deadlines
  • Self-reliant, motivated and resilient with proven ability to work as part of a team as well as independently A flexible and open approach to change self awareness and confidence in your abilities
  • Computer proficiency with intermediate MS Excel skills Ability to inspire and influence others to see future possibilities
  • Possess good speaking, reading and writing skills in the native languages of your store
  • Demonstrate the IKEA values in the ways of working and communication
  • Ability to take and analyze complex data and make it simple, relevant and understandable for decisionmakers
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate people and tasks, follow up and work with a sense of urgency
  • Staff scheduling experience
  • Experience working in a customer-focused service industry, preferably retail
  • Success in management and leadership including conflict management and negotiation skills
  • Ability to adjust the style of communication to get the message across to the receiver and to give open and honest feedback
  • Experience with and knowledge of scheduling software used in the store
  • Presentation and training skills
  • Possess good reading and writing skills in English 
  • Interested in Home Furnishing and retail industry 
  • Able to work weekends and Public Holidays
